Yes. Agree with this. Let him rip up the mid-week games. Side-note…As much as I want Evans to be a weekend starter, he’s gonna have to earn that job. If not, his best spot may be long relief on the weekends. Just because you’re not a starter doesn’t mean your job is not hugely important.
I trust in CJJ to get this thing back on track. Looking forward to a really exciting season.

No he simply stated during the recruiting process he never made it to BR. He never realistically planned to go to college. We were always a plan B or C even
Jay flew out to Cali after the Curiel signing in Pittsburgh to make his pitch. And as Jay has proven, he usually don't miss in these opportunities.
Also said his 3 year NIL package put him right under what the Gs were offering, so around $1.6m for 3Y. And that 3rd party NIL opportunities are abound so if he's Kade Anderson in a year and a half he'll be able to add more to the 1.6. Think the G-team, Canes, etc
Just remember the kid should be going into his HS senior year. MLB folks noted and docked him on his perceived immaturity. Well yea that might be expected given he skipped a year.
I think first year expectations should be held in check, but both scone and blake think he can come in and start on Sundays given his 6'4 frame and control of 3 pitches n the zone.

I wouldn't be surprised if he went the Mac Marshall route. Come to LSU in the fall, see where he stands and then go juco if hes not gonna be a starter

No, he was just explaining how wild this is. Shmidt truly had no intentions to go to college. So much so, he never visited the school he committed to.

The quality of pitching instruction in the collegiate ranks, especially at a school like LSU, is really good. If I were a young prospect, I'd rather play in a college system with fantastic facilities and better travel accommodations. Riding the bus in A ball sucks.
