Ncaa says there are courts who have ruled in their favor and this judge should too.
Did they?
..about those TROs initiated after the 5 for 5 ruling.
..or Chambliss getting his 6th year.

But also stating: Not withdrawing your name from the NFL draft and leaving collegiate athletics also makes them ineligible to return.
That's everyone else that attended ANY minicamps who has returned to date outside of LSU.
Shh they don't like rule 1 of that rule cause it affects places other than LSU

Are you intentionally ignoring the potential of focused future attempts at institutional retribution, which have been not-so-subtly indicated as viable by this case and a new federal filing today?
No. In fact that is what my entire opinion on this situation is based on.
There is no planet on which winning this battle in court and having these two guys on the team is worth the petty vindictiveness that would follow for years. It just isn’t. The only reason anyone on this site feels differently is because it’s LSU.

It’s not a new concept that a bully will push you around until you stand up for yourself.
This isn’t the hill. They have a colorable and reasonable distinction between us and Texas etc. it may be stupid but they can state it. It isn’t “baseless”.
quote:correct. The entire football world is telling us to stop. Why we don’t, I don’t know.
This is classic, albeit poorly veiled, institutional bullying.
Even Texas Tech listened when everyone told them stop over Soresby despite a chance they could win in court.

Sec is up
Says it comes down to the question can the 16 university agree to the standards of their conference. LSU was present at the last meeting and agreed to the standards that the sec wants to uphold.
The announcement to punish schools has nothing to do with individual players. This hearing is about the players not the schools. Sec has not threatened to punish any individual players.

No they don’t. That’s the entire point lol

That doesn’t make any sense.
I’m pretty sure he is right. Look at La Code Civ P 3608.
The party getting the injunction is liable if it is dissolved. A third party should fare no better.
BUT: I would put good money on an appellate court not dissolving it. It’s the First Circuit. And the Louisiana Supreme Court has six LSU grads.

Will you go away? You are terribly wrong about everything and derailing the thread.

I.
Don’t.
Care.
About the language of the rule. I’m saying LSU is stupid for pressing this (and we are, and yes I know we aren’t a named party) because there are zero possible positive outcomes for LSU. None.

Said there was a ruling in Colorado and another one that ruled in favor of ncaa. Not sure what those were

Why is the judge making comments like this
because it's a good point? half of the SEC brief was based on
1. LSU has to cut players to bring these days in (verifiably false)
2. HS seniors are going to be affected (like... what?)

Go find the Jones case.
The LASC actually has made an incredibly germane ruling on a very similar topic. There are other cases nationwide absolutely allowing conferences to hammer schools for behavior done under the pretense of a district court injunction.

Yeah, they just did it outright without threats.
