Just a fans idea of offensive problems. I'm interested in what other people think, or are seeing something different:

1. Hill not on field nearly enough.
2. Plays can be guessed by personnel on field (eg, Michael Ford equals sweep, Ware doesn't run outside)
3. Never/rarely use tight end
4. WR's run very simple routes. Nothing done to confuse defenses or cause DBs to have to make quick decisions about who to cover. WR's literally just run up field
5. Mett can't seem to hit wide open WR's on deep routes
6. RB's rarely used as receivers
7. Pass plays usually take too long to develop.
8. Pass protection and/or Mett's pocket awareness need to be better.
9. Even running plays are very basic-never anything done to confuse D about where ball is going. Just straight smash-mouth football.

What do y'all think?

Completely agree with #8

Would like to see #6 more often.

I've been complaining about #3 for years.

I think JHill catching the ball in space could be dangerous.

I wasn't thinking so much about Hill when I wrote that one, but you're right. With his speed, a linebacker would have a real hard time covering him.

AGREE WITH ALL 8 Points ... But Les will feels no Pressure from LSU , they just except anything he does.

Clearly. I mean, it's nothing but praise for him on the rant. . .

All are spot on but number 5 kills me the most. The amount of TDs lost this year cause of overthrows is unbelievable.

You hit the nail on the head buddy. I believe all of this can be fixed with an offensive coordinator who has free reign like Chavis has with the defense.

IMO Miles let Crowton have complete control in 07 and in 08 and pulled the plug after Lee threw so many picks.

It doesnt matter what players you have on offense nobody can have success when your offense is so damn predictable

Auburns pathetic offense put up 374 yards against Clemson. We put up a whopping 219.

We need to stop with this rotating RB shite, especially when 1 RB is clearly better than the rest. And we have to make the defense pay for stacking the box. We continue to run right into a 9 man front.

It's a complete and total lack of creativity and thought. Miles treats his talented offense like they can only do limited things. Then they blame it on execution

They did throw to Ware a few times. I actually called it. They lined him up in single back and then emptied the backfield. Each time I told my brother it's a pass to Ware and it was.

I also talked about the fact that they telegraph plays by which back is in.

With all the pressure I would have run quick slants to slow down the rush. A 6'5 QB should be money with that play.

Mett also does a horrible job of selling play fakes which would have helped.

You're right, there were a few passes to Ware. But the way he lined up let you call the play. I was able to call a few plays in advance too last night, which is kind of my point. If you and I are doing this, then defensive Coordinators on other teams are probably having an esy time doing it.

#2 and #9 stand out the most...

good offenses keep a defense off balance, they keep them guessing

That's why teams run screens and draw plays

LSU's playaction is ineffective because no one respects our passing game...and for good reason!

The game planning has been laughable...if Art Briles can do wonders with Baylor, why can't we do the same with superior athletes??? Take a look at how Brent Pease works the Florida offense...there's a real OC

1. True and the only good thing about it is that Hill has less chances to be injured and will be fresh for his NFL career.

2. This could somewhat be fixed by fixing #1.

3. This is a recruiting/play calling issue.

4. Is this a QB or OL or WR issue? Not sure.

5. This is a QB touch issue but can be improved with coaching.

6. OC creativity issue. Ware TD was only good one this season.

7. Due to mostly using 2 receiver formations.

8. This needs coaching and formation scheme (like against Clowney).

9. OC creativity issue.

JMHO with no experience. But I did stay at a Holiday Inn express.
