Exactly the point. Our guys declared for the pros and renounced their “amateurism.” If that’s the threshold everyone wants to focus on, then Wright and Harris are no more professional than the other guys listed in this thread.

That’s part of the point I’m making: they have eligibility, and they should be able to play.

Bottom line.

Anyway, here are some more:

PLAYERS PURSUING A RETURN TO COLLEGE:

Ahmaad Moses (S) Giants - NFL COMBINE + WORKOUT - SMU

Jayden Fielding (K) Ottawa Redblacks - SIGNED; TRAINING CAMP - Ohio State

Treylin Payne (LB) - NFL DRAFT PROCESS - Texas State

Tyrence Crutcher (CB) - NFL DRAFT PROCESS - West Virginia

Justus Ross-Simmons (WR) - NFL DRAFT PROCESS - Syracuse

Rashod Dubinion (RB) - NFL DRAFT PROCESS - Appalachian State

"The SEC has endured and thrived for nearly a century because its members have adhered to that common set of rules, which each member institution, and every coach at those institutions, has agreed to follow," the SEC's federal lawsuit said. "Among the most fundamental of those rules are the longstanding provisions that prohibit individuals who have entered a professional draft, signed professional contracts, or been rostered on a professional athletics team from returning to compete in college athletics (the "Professionalism Rules").

Let me highlight this for you:

professionalism meaning your getting paid to play a sport. Well is getting paid by the universities with revenue sharing, getting paid to play a sport the same thing?

Not hearing anyone bring up this issue by the talking heads in the media. No one wants to call out the hypocrisy.

No one wants to talk about the hypocrisy, mainly because they are ignorant to the landmark rulings of O'Bannon and Alston.

The SEC and media jumped the gun and got backed into a corner by overreacting. Probably mainly because of Lane Kiffin. Now they have to defend themselves at all cost. By ignoring, deflecting, twisting, and reporting everything selectively. Thank God there’s a couple out there who are actually reporting the truth about the situation. I’m interested to see what Gameday is going to say. That will go a long way in public opinion and perception.

Don’t minicamp participants receive per diem and travel/lodging according to the CBA? “They never signed NFL contracts” is crap…they signed paperwork to be paid to try out for an NFL team and ultimately didn’t make it.

That’s pretty much what training camp is, you’re just farther through the process.

It’s incredible hair-splitting to say that one is no impact but the other is an existential threat.

Once you sign a pro contract, there should never be an avenue to return to college. This whole debacle is crazy. Same for the other sports like basketball.

Does that apply to athletes that sign the revenue sharing agreements with the universities as well?

The NFL players union negotiates player compensation based on the NFL teams sharing a portion of their revenues with the players
