Tailgating has drastically decreased the past 5-6 years thanks to LSU policies.
Agreed and some policies needed to be put in place because of how some people trashed the campus but they have went too far with it IMO.
quote:I have no problem with charging its the price that is the problem. 50 dollars for Chattanooga? that is more than the face value of 35 dollars. That is fricking insane. 90 dollars for Auburn, they are crazy.
Charging for the Hayfield lot may be the final straw for many.

I don't give a shite about parking because I'm gonna walk 10 miles bouncing from tailgates so what's another half or 3/4 of mile.
I don't go to fricking games to eat or watch tv in concourse. I go to watch the game from my seat. Sure running out of popcorn and Coke sucks but I'm sure they'll correct the issue.
Leaving the games has always sucked.
As far as prices how do we crow about paying Aranda and Canada HC salaries but bitch about, ticket, TAF, concession, & parking cost. If you can't afford to drop a couple hundred on game day then stay your arse at home.
You fricking people would bitch if you were hung with a new rope.

Uhh we are paying much less this year to current coaches than last year FWIW.

None of this is paying these salaries. What LSU earns from gamday parking and concessions are pennies and amount to nothing compared to what they get on media deals from the SEC.

100/100 times I would rather stay home and watch than to pay $90 to park and walk miles each way and still get shitty traffic on the way out. frick that. This is just continuing LSU's onslaught on the people that make tiger stadium what it is to begin with.

They were out of popcorn by halftime also

Since you mooch off a bunch of fricking tailgates you don't care about parking. Many people who tailgate do care about where they park in addition to their walk into the stadium and other freeloader/moochers like your ignorant arse. They don't want you to have to walk to BFE to mooch HD, boudin, Crawfish queso and the fans we set up under our tents for your sorry arse.
But just because you don't set up or want to set up a tailgate doesn't mean others don't want to. That just means it does not matter to you. Not to everyone. To you. But if they screw everyone over, less people tailgate and there are less people for you to tailgate with. But hey it doesn't matter to you so it shouldn't matter to ANYONE!

LSU's only been selling popcorn and Coke longer than I've been alive (the late 70's). I'm sure if we give them another decade they'll figure it the frick out. Maybe they'll figure out how to make sure something other then $7/liter water somehow gets iced down in large enough quantities that it's available for sale past the 2nd quarter. I'm sure that's just an oversight though. They aren't trying to force you to spend more on the most expensive water if you want it cold. Just like they aren't forcing you to walk over a mile for 20+ minutes one way. It's an oversight anything closer than that costs more money to park than the face value on the tickets. Suuuure.

Says the guy who isn't paying any money to tailgate and doesn't pay to park from the sounds of it. Sounds easy to bitch at people to spend their money when you're admittedly enjoying it when they do without kicking in your own coin.
(I'm sure you buy a sixer of Abita or Yuengling so you feel like you contributed to the cause, a-hole )

Wow. Your post really drove home a lot about how the fan experience has changed in Tiger Stadium. That's really sad. I think back to the days as a child going to games, parking for free, sitting in the SEZ and what a great time we had. I doubt many kids today are getting that same experience. Money ruins everything.

About the concession stands in the South Upper: Outside of my section we had sausage dogs, tiger dogs, and ultimate nachos. The next concession stand over had 4 different types of hamburgers. LSU has apparently decided to have each concession stand specialize in one thing. Also, the large drinks now come with a free refill sticker. Very confusing move by LSU, but I got it now.

Where does this money go? Does it not go to the athletic dept? Does the broke arse state of Louisiana pay the multi million dollar salaries to the staff?
I realize that the concessions, parking etc are pennies compared to tv contracts but if you're delusional enough to believe they don't make a difference in the athletic departments bottom line then you are thicker than pig shite. Why would they go up on prices if it doesn't matter?
You just keep doing you pal.

If it matters so much why schedule games like Chattanooga and split concession for the good neutral Games?
If it matters so much why run out of the products that you do sell long before the stands even empty in the 3rd qtr?
Maybe if LSU's braintrust wasnt so brain dead on squandering potential profits they would not have to resort to taking away 1000 free parking places and doing nothing to advertise they did it outside of an email to season ticket holders.

Pennies don't matter and shouldn't matter when you are ruining the fan experience.

This is a policy in most venues now. Been like that in the Dome for a while. Stupid really.

In west upper all 3 concession areas are essentially all right next to each other. One section ends, another starts. Not like other places in the stadium.
I somehow misunderstood the last part of what you were saying...my fault...when you said it's not a far walk up there or whatever, I thought you meant for people that couldn't find what they were looking for in their section.

I know LSU needs to make $$$ to have great coordinators, facilities, etc., but for the record, the football program took in $85 million and profited over $55 million last year. They are doing extremely well.

We have a decent ranking but far from high, and easily got a slot in TD Village once we heard our last spot was being removed bc of new construction.
