We learned a couple of years ago to bring water/coke bottle tops in our pockets.

Didn't think you would have a response to grown men who are already spending money on tailgates you freely admit to enjoying and then bitch at to pony up so you can an continue to do so.

Yeah...didn't look to me like the renovations made it up to the West Upper Deck. Once concession stand had hamburgers, each stand had a slightly different menu making things pretty confusing. The only new menu item that made it up there is the white beans. Nothing like a hot bowl of white beans on a warm early September night game.

Bathroom renovations didn't make it up to us either apparently. After all the hype overall pretty underwhelmed...

I have to laugh at that one. That is a new level of pettiness. Who the hell would make that decision?? Is that Aramark or an LSU decision? It's not like there have been stories about the skyrocketing costs of jalapeno peppers out there. It's a condiment that people have helped themselves to forever.

I was going to the Troy game but have now changed my mind. Eliminate athletic scholarships and award them to the best students and parking will be free and no traffic again and u can still pull for the ole alma mater.

Joe Amat actually be doing some of us a favor. By screwing things up and running people off, it's a lot easier for me to get to and from campus. The lines were shorter everywhere for me.

But you can forget LSU being a big time program if they don't generate the revenue.
the problem is attendance is suffering so much, how much money is lsu really making from paid parking and concessions? the games are inconvenient and expensive so people are staying home and not spending money at the game. i am definitely in that category

here's what i want - acceptable traffic (i know there will be traffic, i just don't want to deal with the current, unnecessary traffic nightmare), decent concessions, acceptable parking (distance and cost), ability to keep up with the big/relevant games (whether via wifi or stadium screens), tiger band vs recorded music

i don't think ANY of that is unreasonable or difficult to offer. basically none of that is happening. i think attendance will continue to decline until the games are more affordable, convenient and fun.

also, i think lsu needs to find a way to have a playground of some kind like at the box (even ikea has this). parents with kids either stay at home or stay for 1q because the experience is even WORSE for little kids. take a cue from skip and make the game a family affair. it's no secret that parents will spend pretty much any amount of money on kids and anyone who has ever been to a disney/sesame st production knows this. add disney-like attractions and the money will start pouring in.

What LSU earns from gamday parking and concessions are pennies and amount to nothing compared to what they get on media deals from the SEC.
this is what i don't get. game day money is nothing compared to overall revenue so why are they turning people away by squeezing them for every penny? improve the experience, get more people at the games, increase interest, make more money, everybody wins. seems obvious to me.

LSU's only been selling popcorn and Coke longer than I've been alive (the late 70's). I'm sure if we give them another decade they'll figure it the frick out. Maybe they'll figure out how to make sure something other then $7/liter water somehow gets iced down in large enough quantities that it's available for sale past the 2nd quarter. I'm sure that's just an oversight though.
exactly. it's not like aramark/lsu has never dealt with a large crowd. how can they not get this right? you KNOW about how many people are going to be there and ABOUT how much they will consume/purchase.

SOME will. let's be honest, the crowd is only showing up for 1 game, the best home game. the other games are being split between everyone. not very many people are going to every game or staying the whole game. so lsu's answer is to start charging for everything and continuing to increase the prices every year

i don't like how game day is being handled but in all fairness, the ad owes taf a llllllllllllllllot of money. having said that, i'm sure the situation is pretty much the same all over. the school foundation is fronting the money for the arms race.

I understand the problem of too many people on campus and lack of parking spaces. What I don't understand is this crazy amount they are charging in the areas around the softball field. 50 dollars for Chattanooga is dumb and then 90 dollars for Auburn. Then when no one is using that lot because of the price you open it up at 5:30 and let cars into the same lot free that just hours earlier you demanded people pay 50 dollars to get into. If want to turn this into pay parking why not offer it to season ticket holders for 200 a year. How about sell it game to game for 20 bucks and open it to only season ticket holders until 3 hours before kick off when you let everyone in. This would cut down on people not going to the game taking up spaces. It may mean that I will eventually give up my tickets, but I will not pay 50-90 dollars to park.

I have had season tickets for 21 years and I went years without missing a game. I haven't made every game in a season since 2011. Some of that has been personal reasons but mostly it has been because of the hurdles that LSU is putting in front of the average LSU fan.
