terminated for cause

Notably, our decision to terminate Coach Wade and Coach Armstrong is not an acknowledgment of agreement with any of the allegations.
Which is it?
If you don't believe the allegations how can you fire him for cause? The guilt of the accusations would be the cause, right?

You officially don’t agree with the allegations but fire him right before the tournament.
Makes sense to me.
Absolutely stunning!
This shite has been has been going for 3 years. AT ANY POINT LSU could have parted ways if they felt it was necessary. Yet they wait until the week before the tournament?
frick WOODWARD AND TATE.
I have never operated under the delusion that Wade was going skate with no potential problems. But to do it NOW is nothing more than an ego trip by a douchebag AD. At bare minimum you let the kids play the tournament with their HC.
Frankly, I won’t be shocked when these clowns decline the NCAAT invite. In fact, I fully expect that to happen

They don’t want to admit guilt but they also understand he got caught red handed.

First, I'm a huge fan of Will Wade and have supported him pretty strongly all throughout this stuff.
That said, this was termination "for cause" which means there's meat on the bones with the allegations that Woodward and Tate received. The fact that an assistant also took shrapnel and got fired means that this was deeper, more coordinated, and more extensive than most of us, myself included, have been willing to believe up until now.
It sucks. It always sucks when people you like let you down. But that's where we're at. I want to be disappointed in Woodward and Tate, but based on the wording of that letter and the "for cause" termination, I'm disappointed in Will Wade. I wish him well and hope he does land on his feet again. I still think he's a good young coach and could have a bright future.
Now we sit back and let all these pieces fall into place. Ultimately, there will be NCAA penalties that we deal with. Also, Woodward will be hiring a new basketball coach. His hires so far have been very good, so I'm interested to see if we can actually manage to upgrade from Wade after all of this.
Sad day for Wade, sad day for LSU basketball, sad day for LSU all around ... but it's the start of what could eventually turn out very well for Tiger fans in the long run.

Throughout that time, the University and its men’s basketball program have operated under an exhausting shroud of negativity.
Anybody disagreeing with this comment must have completely ignored the media for the last 3 years.
From the hit pieces by Pat Forde and Yahoo, to Karl Ravech, Dick Vitale and other ESPN commentators arbitrarily discussing allegations against Wade during games, the negative perception has been there. Whether we like it or not.

The university named the freaking court for another unscrupulous recruiter for crying out loud!

Are you stupid? If you took that seriously, you are the dumbass.

In this context, "for cause" is whatever it is defined to be in Wade's amended contract. If one "cause" is an NCAA allegation of a level 1 violation, LSU has sufficient cause regardless of whether it is proven or not.
So, I guess we find out tomorrow what happens in the tournament. Are we self-banning? If not, I don't see how the NCAA can not select us.

I’m convinced that Woodward get his rocks off by conducting coaching searches

As many of you know I know CWW personally. If you were paying attention it was easy to see this was always going to end this way. He had gotten to the end of his rope around mid season . The obvious shear desire for his firing from all corners of the basketball world finally too it’s toll. He was clearly the most unliked and least respected coach in th sport these last few years. Woody did the right thing for the program and if what I hear is correct the List is very strong. I’ll always be grateful for what Wade brought to the program and will look forward to following his endeavors going forward. Thanks Coach

All of our starters and major bench players will likely now enter the transfer portal. The rest of the SEC is now contacting our guys to transfer right after we are 1 and done in the tournament. No LSU BB coach ever has recruited better than he has nor had generated more interest (since Dale). Scott your last hire is doing great at Texas A&M!! Ready for BB to return to the SEC cellar with 3/4 empty arenas. Wonderful move Scott for LSU basketball. Hope you can get somebody better than your last BB coaching hire LOL.
"The University will determine its positions on the allegations after an exhaustive and objective examination of the relevant facts and applicable NCAA regulations." Should have been done before you fired WW!

Administration did NOT say they were fired for cause. They were terminated because WW's contract allowed that. The statement on not admitting to the allegations. That was a legal requirement drafted by the lawyers. Yes, there's bigger issues at play than your precious basketball program. Who wants a coach that operates by being subjected to blackmail. He's may just be as capable to throw games because he's blackmailed. Are the Tards on this site so bought into WW that you'd sale your soul and program for one coach. If so, then you're as bad a WW. No character nor integrity. I can't and won't comment on what other programs get away with and frankly don't care. I'd prefer a University and athletic department that conducts itself to a higher standard than the lowest of the low.

It looks like Wade made some of the payments from his spouse’s account. He should be fired for incredible stupidity, if nothing else.
