I wiuld think that the numerous players you were wrong about would be a lesson in humility. You (the rant) were wrong about Damone Clark, Baskerville, Deculus, Etling, Ingram, TDP, etc. I could list 20 more.

You are wrong about Max. I;m going to tell you about Max what I told you about Damone Clark over a year ago: He is an NFL QB. Continue being stupid, though. There is no risk. No one has enough energy to research who siad “Damone Clark is the worst LB we’ve ever had at LSU.” And no one will remember who the Max Johnson morons are, either.

A starting nfl qb or a guy who floats around and barely makes a team?

You were the guy who said mcglothern isn't fast enough to be a corner in the sec

That last drive. It seemed one of two things to me. It was our young QB coming into his role or... Tiger Stadium magic.

Johnson has talent, but he also has deficiencies like holding the ball too long. The fact is that he has given his all when many others have not. If he stays at LSU, I hope that he gets a competent offensive coordinator who can truly develop quarterbacks.

He needs to improve his pocket awareness, no doubt. With that said IF just half of his 'dropped' passes were caught this season, we win more games. Guy is a competitor. He'll continue to get better as our young WR corps also improves. The youngsters up front on the OL need to get stronger at the point of attack. The PT these guys got collectively this season, and key portal additions (OL), will pave the way for success.

It’s never good when the back of your LT’s jersey is covered in grass stains

zero rhythm

You make a good point here. Max absolutely must be in a short pass rhythm offense. He does not improvise.

He lost the Bama game for us, but won the aTm game with one of the most prefect passes ever thrown in Tiger Stadium.

The main problem to me with max is his arm and pocket awareness.

He seemed to play better last year, or at least when the plays come in quick enough.

I don't know enough about football to know if these plays he's getting sacked in are long developing plays and the OL can't protect long enough for the intended receiver to get open, or if the offense is predictable and the DC is calling plays counter to us and Max has no looks to throw the ball.

Last night he scrambled more than he has all year, the ability to get those 4-8 yards has to be able to create some opportunities down field.

The flaws are there. Sure he made a terrific throw to win it, but he cannot do it consistently. He Kate on too many, inaccurate on too may, and stand there for too may sacks.
It's alarming to me that when he does feel the pressure, he runs the wrong way right into more danger.

He just doesn't have the awareness needed to lead a consistent or above average offense

Everything about the offense is better when they run up tempo and just snap the damned ball instead of doing the meerkat crap.

Max has played 2 years of college football

Not really. Last year he only played a few games after Finley got benched. He's only started like 14 games or so which is a little over a season. Give this guy a better O line and a great offensive play caller and he could be elite..... and the kid is tough!

Last night was not the best indicator as 72 was beat like a turnstile all night. Max stood in the pocket and delivered when it mattered most.

I’ve been very critical of Max this year. From is lack of mobility, his inaccuracy tsk taking awful sacks at bad times.

But that last drive last night was a thing of beauty.

He likes getting smoked by SEC lineman.

Gotta be tough to be stupid

Great guy and plays hard.

Does well when he aborts, he needs to give himself the green light more

Dropping passes is an effective means to lose games. What happened to the summer of 10,000 catches? The team is undisciplined. I hope the new coach gets that part straight.

BTW the new hire will be a Billy Napier type of "up and comer". Aranda is the only "established" P5 coach LSU has a shot at, but it is a long one.

As bad as Dellinger was being abused you would think he would learn to feel pressure from that side or at least expect it. That is one thing that he has not gotten better at over the course of the season. But he did step up on that TD winning throw. Actually he was stepping in to most of his throws this game which was an improvement.

It's going to be a wide open QB competition this Spring.

Max, Nuss, Howard, and a potential transfer (I still want LSU to go after Gabriel from UCF.)

Oh, he’s not on the same page alright, a lot of times he looks away to throw to the opposite side of where the blitz is coming. Now, is that because Peetz is telling him where his first option is with all the check with mes? If Peetz isn’t, I’m very disappointed in the fact he can’t read defenses better pre and post snap. Nevertheless, he locks in and doesn’t check down and that is what leads to the unnecessary sacks.
