I love O and appreciate everything he has accomplished. However, he is now 8-7 since winning a National Championship and I believe 15 games is a long enough sample size.

To those still waiting for O to turn it around, I ask 2 questions:
1) How many games is enough of a sample size?
2) If you give him until the end of the year (which would be a 22 game sample size) what tangible improvements would you need to see within the team to justify another season (other than just winning because that won’t just happen by itself)?

I’m just curious why you would let this train wreck continue.

There is no reason to can him this early. There is a time to fire him to get out ahead of other teams that are looking for coaches. But Oct1 isn’t it. Maybe a month from now, at the earliest

I think you’d probably wait until the bye week

getting out in front is overrated anyway...the job doesn't have to be officially open for you to put out feelers. Everyone can see the writing on the wall.

I'd like to see him fired early just cause though

Woodward has a plan, I’m confident in that.

He’s not going to be making hasty emotional decisions in the middle of the night like Alleva.

I’m sure his plan has long been formulated and is already ready to be activated at the appropriate time.

IMO he’s been working quietly behind the scenes on what comes next for quite some time now, long before the start of the 2021 season.

All about the melt on the RANT.

No want, no chest and NO know how in that field house.

The GILF would be a better HC than him.

It's funny (in a sad way) because it's true.

It's a much different situation.

The problem with Les is that it was drug out after a 3 game losing streak in 2015. They went from being the undefeated, #2 ranked team in the nation to a 3 loss unranked team in a span of 3 weeks. He should have been fired then, but it got dragged into the offseason.

O is going to lose 1 of the next 2, if not both. He will not be around this offseason.

As sour a taste as it would be, I'd be fine letting him finish the season out if it meant it gave LSU the pretext to fire him for cause.

Agreed.

He's currently 3-2 (1-1). Looking at the rest of the schedule I think we can agree Alabama is the only team left against whom it looks like LSU has no shot. While maybe unlikely, if the team finishes 8-4 with some signs of improvement along the way then you could make the argument of wanting to see how the staff can perform with a year of experience under their belt. Plus, you'd be returning a solid group of experienced juniors and some sophomore who have shown flashes already.

Is that where the program should be 5 years into Ed's tenure and two years after a dominant 2019? One would think not. But (assuming LSU could recruit well again) 2022 could be his third straight top 5 class and the plague of James Cregg and his horrible recruiting has at least been removed. Given that it would be expensive to turn over the HC and staff....again...LSU might be willing to give O a "make or break" 2022 season

Les was stubborn. The glaring issues where there and he refused to try to fix them. O isn't stubborn. It's just that he doesn't quite know what he is looking for. One mindset at least gives you a CHANCE of improving while the other doesn't.

By the end of Oct. we will know where things stand. If LSU goes 0-4 or 1-3 vs. Auburn, Kentucky, Florida and Ole Miss, then it will be clear the program has given up on O and it is time to move on. If Auburn is the only loss of the 4, then we'll see what November brings.

It's not unlikely, it's impossible. We may not win another game, only exception would be A&M. It's a bad, bad situation and needs to be flushed.

I guess the only thing you can’t fall in to is him playing himself back into grace.

You could have talked me into this scenario 72 hours ago, but that ship has sailed baw.

It’s now simply a matter of when.

See I'd be surprised if Woodward hired a guy with no Power 5 experience. It just doesn't fit what he usually does at all.

To be, and I can't believe I'm saying this, to be fair to Alleva...he was ready to do it after that A&M game, but we won and they carried Les off the field.

F. King then told Alleva not to do it, which then made a shite situation worse.

I could be wrong, but I don't see Tate meddling like King did - especially with Woodward. That would be a recipe for disaster.

O. Has no supporters left in that building outside of ponamsky.

The president and Woodward would glad to get rid of him. I think they wait a few weeks and good chance O "resigns"
