I'd like to see Brennan, IF he is decisive, aggressive and pushes the ball down the field (and has good protection from the line). I want to see lots of 15-25 yd passes out of the gun with the intent to score 40+ every game, leaving the opponent reeling. No huddle, call the play at the line, play with good tempo. I want well over 300 yds a game, with 2 minute offense all game long.
Basically, I want Burrow with frozen ropes.

If we're not going to do that, or he can't for whatever reason, then go with Johnson. I think he can manage the 8 minute drives better.

And like I said in another thread, if it's a tossup after spring, go with Johnson.

I have to think it is Brennan. He looked really damn good before he was injured and finished the Mizz game with a freak injury. If our defense had a pulse we would have started 3-0. 1000+ yards 10+ TDs in 3 games is impressive. Max is the future, Brennan is the now.

There's a whole summer left. This thing has only just begun.

Actually, this is a pretty good spot to be in as an LSU fan. Just 5 years ago, we wanted just one decent guy at QB.

Now we have (at least) 2 pretty good ones and another one waiting in the wings going into fall camp.

Too early to say.

I'm leaning towards Brennan, just on arm strength and for being in the offense for as long as he has.

However, Max has some wheels, he's not intimidated by the moment. The players respond to him, just like with Brennan.

Hard to say right now. If it's Brennan, I think Max will be a close second. Which is a good thing to have.

TJ tries hard but sometimes too much.

G is a true freshman but he looks like he'll be a superstar by the time he leaves.

Well going off of what I just saw in the “spring game” (which doesn’t mean much) I’d have to say Max performed the best and it really wasn’t very close. Now I haven’t seen any other practice or scrimmage so that is off of this game only.

Myles had some moments but Max was super consistent without as many big plays as Myles had. If Myles can be more consistent, get the ball out a little quicker then he will take his spot back and he could easily fix those two things. Myles may need more of a consistent roster to perform with consistency, where Max can make due.

It did look like Max anticipated the field better overall and he is more mobile, which is a plus and makes it much more difficult on a defense as we saw with Burrow. I think Max is much more Burrow like than Myles is but Myles can make throws that Max can’t. They are the first two QBs, no doubt about that. I’d give those two the majority of the reps here out and let them battle it out. Whoever comes out on top, starts and the other needs to be ready to play at any given time because they’re different QBs and we may need both to beat a team or two.

Maybe the starter is hurt or isn’t playing well so we have the option of putting the other in. It would have to be a really bad game for me to pull the starter though. We need to stick with one guy! While Myles did put up great numbers, he lost games and Max won games. Maybe it’s the defenses fault but the fact remains. Imo Myles needs to ramp up his level of play to clearly beat out Max. That’s based off of last years play and this game. That would be exactly what competition is for and would give us a damn good QB room for this year and the coming years!

I did like the offense I saw and the entire defense as well. There were mistakes made but being how they were just hired, I really liked the progression that I saw on the field from everyone. The OL looks to be in shape and mean. The DL looks to be aggressive and deep. The LBs look fast and know where they going. The DBs looked long, big and aggressive. The RBs looked good from the little we saw. The QBs look good and the WRs were getting open and catching passes. That is probably the area I’d like to see us improve, is at WR. It’s not near as deep as 2019, at the moment but that is a huge measuring stick as well. If we want to be like that team then we need to improve in that area, talent wise. I think we will be good but not great, yet. That could change though!

Max. Look at that huge TD to Boutte that was called back, on some bs penalty that would of been 3 TD for max

After yesterday, I feel like Max is currently in the lead. It wouldn't surprise me at all of it ends up being Brennan though.

This is a nice problem to have in Baron Rouge. I went to my first Tiger game in 1956, so I have endured a lifetime of inconsistent QB play. A good one comes along every eight to ten years. The QB room has never had this much talent in potential at one time.

I really think Brennan gets the nod this year with Max the heir apparent. Nussmeier should develop, but will have to wait his turn. TJ will play ... somewhere imo.

If the offense produces and the teams win, the Tigers should continue to attract top talent. Sorry I don’t have many seasons left to enjoy.

I really appreciate this vote. Know exactly who to start now. Really makes my decision easier.

this.

max has WAY more pocket presence and won't just stand in cement behind a collapsing pocket.

Max’s ability to run the ball is the difference for me. Running was the most underrated part of Burrow’s game. Having to account for the QB to run on occasion is huge.
