I agree with your post 100%. I understand that you are what your record says you are, but my eyes tell me that this LSU team looks much better than one last year. 2025 LSU gets rolled in Lexington Saturday night. Loses by 14.

Building a team over the 3-4 years of a players career is no longer a given. Players jump from team to team for the $$$. Championships are just a bonus. It's all about "getting mine."
Was never on the Lane train. Is he invested for the long term? His career history does not reflect the continuity that is needed to build a stable contender for the long haul. The money is the money and is a reflection of where we are in College athletics. No idea how sustainable it is to keep shelling out 50 million a year for football rosters.
It is what it is.

That being said, CLK is MUCH better the CBK.

Agree with OP. Plus I think LK learned his lesson this weekend with Baker. Lane got involved with the OM defensive game plan and took some blame. I haven’t heard anything like that after Sat night. LK also said he told Baker he better have a good 2 pt conversion call ready because if they scored they were going for two. Bakers call was terrible. Just seems like Lane has figured out he can’t put games in the defenses hands with Baker.

I also think if OM and UK are played in TS we win both of those. Lane needs to reevaluate how they are preparing for road games because something is off.

People keep saying this, but Kiffin will never have to replace as many players as he did this year. And he had to do it in two months.

No one is bringing in 50 new players a year. That’s not what is happening. Yes the portal is a factor and retention will never be 100% but it will be much closer to 100 than to 50.

Having a full year, multiple years in many cases, to bring in traditional classes and retain is going to allow the NIL budget to go much farther and more efficiently to bring in difference makers where needed.

This really isn’t even a question and should be obvious to anyone that isn’t just a sky screaming ranter.

I think it’s fair to ask why our first year coach lost to another first year coach of a team that had more of a rebuild and a less expensive roster.

May not be an equal comparison but Saban went 6-6 his first year at UA losing to ULM

I was prepared for growing pains. I thought it would take at least a year for Kiffin to change the culture around LSU. I was surprised we went to Kentucky and looked unprepared and out coached. Baker had some absolute brain farts for no explicable reason. I think Lane sees he can’t trust Baker anymore in tough times. He needs to be aggressive and put the game on his shoulders,

Since I don’t have my damn glasses on, I can’t read all that can I please take an attempt to sum it all up

We are a bully to shitty teams and a bitch to good teams.

I understand. 50 was an exaggeration (of course) AND it's not necessarily the better players that leave, as shown by the avg player rating that are transferring out.

He did a pretty good job getting freshman signees to stay committed.
Hopefully he can continue to get the top HS players and especially the LA talent. Big impact freshman are paying off already.

What everyone is leaving out about Cignetti is he brought his own team with him . A battle hardened cohort trained to his standards and knowing his systems thoroughly. Makes a huge difference that first year.

A few things. If you are kicking 24 -25 yd field goals that becomes a problem because you are leaving a TD on the field. Good that he makes them, Bad that we have stall out inside the red zone, even worse because you stall out inside the 10.
