In '23 we beat Tennessee, Wake, and Florida. That was a gauntlet.

This year doesn't really compare.

Make no mistake, nobody is looking a minute past 6pm on Saturday but....

You can't ignore the fact that, on paper, this is the weakest CWS field LSU has faced in the last 26 yrs.

What weakness does ucla and arkansas target better than most teams?

UCLA: 100 arms that can give us fits

Arky: I think they're just overall a more complete and stronger team. But theiy're Arky so likely to choke.

We could beat every team in this field

We could lose to every team in this field

Welcome to “that’s baseball”

Fool’s errand debating this topic. Head down one pitch at a time and the chips fall where they fall

UCLA had a pretty easy path to Omaha
Don’t know what to make of them

We could go through a gauntlet and win or we could sleep through a cakewalk path and lose.

“That’s baseball” is a mantra for a reason and we are at the mercy of it

Head down and 9 innings at a time

BINGO. If we beat Houston in our own regional in 2014, we'd have probably won it all.

If Texas beat UTSA in their own regional this year they'd probably win it all..

Baseball is frickin retarded. And we're here for it in 2025!

The goal should be to just get to Omaha and see what happens honestly, too many variables.

I'm just hoping we can hit away from the Box.

UCLA - their pitching will likely give us fits, and they have it in spades.

Not a single one of their top 3 starters has an ERA below 4.09. They have 4 or 5 good bullpen pieces that got outs in 1500 seat stadiums.

In conference, they have a total of 2 qualified arms with ERAs under 4, and they throw a under 30 innings combined.

To put that into prospective LSU has 6 guys with sub 4 ERA in the SEC, 4 of them throwing 30+ innings on their own, 2 of them throwing ~60.

UCLA is an offensive team. This isn't 2011.

UCLA worries me in the main fact that it just seems like they have LSUs number. We seem to lose to them at everything. Unless they are horrible like they were last year in football.

The last two times LSU was in the CWS they had to battle some extremely good teams. The definitive best teams in the regular season in Oregon State in 2017 and Wake Forest in 2023.

Arkansas is a good team but it’s Arkansas. There’s no 4 loss Oregon State or Wake Forest LSU has to deal with this time.

It does seem to be ones of those schools we have trouble beating.

Didn't they knock us out of the WBB tourney this year?

It’s the CWS. The final 8 teams. What are you on about?

Okay, so not one thing that they target that is lsu’s weakness. And ucla has lived on batted ball luck so far

Quit complaining. We drew the Vols in the first round in 23.

It’s Omaha it’s the best of the best. No side is easier. Arkansas is great and it’s sink or swim time for us.

One advantage that LSU and Arky have is being accustomed to playing in front of big crowds. UCLA and Murray State, not so much.

Murray is a damn 4 seed, it doesnt get easier than that.

Don’t do this. None of these teams made it to Omaha by playing like shite. I’m not saying the tigers can’t beat any of the teams there, but I also don’t consider any team to be a cake walk.
