LSU enjoys paying for Great Value cream cheese and telling everyone it tastes just like Philadelphia.

Some poster put the 2001 LSU vs Auburn game on with Franklin, Gottfried, and Karsten. Man...that's what I miss. Where is that? Where is that 1997 atmosphere? It went up in corporate smoke. Money over everything. You would think the Wu-Tang Clan owns LSU football and F King and Joe. Cash rules everything around me. CREAM. get the money...
sadly, this is what it's like pretty much everywhere now. College stadiums and the atmosphere are beginning to become like the NFL. Attedence is also down nation-wide due to every game being on TV. Back in the 90s, you generally weren't on TV more than 3-4 times a season unless you were Notre Dame. And not to be that guy, but the millennial entitled attitude makes it very difficult for anyone to enjoy seasons that don't result in championships. Remember in the 90s being excited to go to the Independence or Peach Bowl? Can you imagine the meltdown if we went to something like the Liberty Bowl?
Now, a lot of it is due to us having a taste at what winning a title feels like. A lot of it is also due to Alabama doing what they're doing. But now, no one wants to accept anything less and can't find enjoyment without a title. I may be crazy, but sometimes I feel like if we hit rock bottom and started to build back up, people would appreciate what we've actually done since 2000 more. Put yourself back in 1994, did you ever think we'd string together 19 straight 8 win seasons? If I had told you back then we would, would you have imagined our fan base not being excited about the program anymore?

LSU just doesn't want to spend theirs. It was John Bel who was threatening to shut the program down.

Sure, it is safe to conclude Coach O will be above .500 while he's at LSU, but if LSU wants to compete with Alabama and play for NCs, then they will need an elite HC complete with top three recruiting classes. As good as top-10 classes are, LSU will need a top-three class every couple of recruiting cycles supplemented with a top-10 class in the next year. The LSU teams from 2010-2012 could compete with Alabama because of a top-three class in 2009 followed by a top-10 class in 2010. Hell, LSU should have beat Alabama at home in 2012, but 3rd and Chavis...you know the rest.

In 1999, LSU football went 3-8. I took a friend to the Houston game, which we lost badly. There was nobody in the stadium. Having grown up watching the Tigers from the family section in the 60's and as a student in the 70's, it was a shocking visual. The stands were literally empty, and there was no life in the place
I think the NeverO's are hoping for this to happen again...ANYTHING to get rid of Coach O. If you think firing our Coach, stroking a big check, and snapping our finger gets us on par with Alabama, think again. Our state has been in financial trouble for years, and paying $75+M for a coach is just not in the cards.
Despite tough losses to Florida and aTm and the Bama blowout, I have really enjoyed the 2018 LSU football season. We have come a long way since the waning days of Coach Miles, and we could very easily be sitting at 11-1 right now and in the thick of the CFP discussion. And I think 2019 sets up really well for our Tigers.
It's not perfect, but I'm positive it could get much, much worse.

You’re preaching to the choir.
Preach to Alexander and Alleva.
They’re not listening, though.

Or you could do like Alabama did: Spend what it takes to hire the best coach and start printing even more money.

I love it when people puts thoughts/words in people’s mouths around here.
Like this dude knows what’s going on behind the scenes of a multi million dollar machine.

Some of you think quite highly of yourselves.

And this nails it. It’s why the gameday atmosphere has so fundamentally changed in his tenure. Fans don’t matter because we’ll bitch but no one is leaving, season tickets are still being bought, and we’re still watching.

He’s not a competitive guy. He’s not a risk taker. He’s not a rah rah rallying prideful guy. He’s not a take no prisoners approach guy.
Alleva has been in academia his whole career. My guess is he is a liberal progressive snowflake who doesn't believe in competition, or working towards a goal that is not a handout. A socialist/communist at heart who is willing to go into cahoots with our Commie Governor to redistribute wealth and ensure that any type of enjoyment is squashed in the name of the needs of their lesser comrades.

LSU hasn't had a losing season in 18 years. This fanbase is spoiled beyond belief. LSU is not a championship team at this point. It was slipping fast at the end of the Les miles era. O has the team trending in the right direction. This year's recruiting class is sitting at 5. It could possibly go higher. It's going to take a couple of more top 10 classes to get LSU back. Most of you have unrealistic expectations for this program. Bring your head out of the clouds and realize where LSU actually is as opposed to where you think they are or where you wish they were and you'll be much happier and definitely less disappointed in a solid coaching staff that's doing right by LSU.

so sounds like to me the problem lies with the AD....How do we get rid of his arse

Their AD has no more money than ours
They have been showing an uptick in revenue the last couple of years because they needed the money to redo their stadium
Our whole football staff salaries are comparable
Jimbo finished 8-4 and was extremely luck Sat night. Sumlin finished 8-4 or better 4 times and finished with top 12 recruiting classes every year
A&M has the #2 recruiting class right now with 24 commits
We have the #5 with 20 commits
Who's in a better position?

LSU is treading water. They are passed by Alabama and A&M but that’s okay. They can still win and go to bowls. They are happy. Regarding talent, O has the #5 ranked recruiting class on the way
In what world do you live in where a number 5 recruiting class is treading water? Unfrickingbelievable.

Of course you believe in O. He isn’t going anywhere, not by choice but no one else wants him. He could win 9-10 games a year, won’t make playoffs, won’t compete for sec championships, and occasionally make a New Years six bowl. So they are good with that and that is what they want. Only way the narrative would have to change is when the money starts to decline. That is not gonna happen
