I think the NeverO's are hoping for this to happen again...ANYTHING to get rid of Coach O. If you think firing our Coach, stroking a big check, and snapping our finger gets us on par with Alabama, think again. Our state has been in financial trouble for years, and paying $75+M for a coach is just not in the cards.
Some do really want that, but many just see it happening no matter what. O is a CEO type of coach meaning he needs top dollar coordinators on both sides of the ball to compete at this level. There is not one successful coach in the entirety of country like that. Les Miles and Mack Brown (previously fired CEOs) were the last remnants of those types of coaches and both have gotten mediocre jobs at basketball schools to try to relive that glory. If you're not going to spend on the type of HC money to compete at a high level, then you have to do it with the coordinators and position coaches.

That 5 mill we saved over the next few years, give most of that to Briles in a 3 year 1.5 mill per year deal, and go higher if you have to. We went 1.5 with Canada and he had done nothing great to deserve it

Despite tough losses to Florida and aTm and the Bama blowout, I have really enjoyed the 2018 LSU football season. We have come a long way since the waning days of Coach Miles, and we could very easily be sitting at 11-1 right now and in the thick of the CFP discussion. And I think 2019 sets up really well for our Tigers.

This is a 2 part reply.

1. If you enjoyed this crappola this year then that's you, but it's been terrible watching LSU slosh through the game offensively week after week for a huge number of people.

2. We haven't improved shite since Miles left. Passing game is still a mess, OL is worse, O coaches even more scared than Miles had become, and it has literally been the worst rush offense we've had since 2009 (a decade ago). Defense has faired well despite losing guys left and right (this is thanks to Aranda). LSU's pass offense should have roasted TAMU, but we didn't. Game should have never been close at the end anyway. We've yet again for the 6 year in a row, lost 3+ games in the regular season.

Where are the improvements my man? What has actually gotten better? Not a damn thing.

It's not perfect, but I'm positive it could get much, much worse.

Yeah if Aranda leaves for some reason and we keep O, you can guarantee a losing season next year.

We have to go to Texas, which will be even better next year

Bama will be better

Florida will be better

TAMU will be better, and gets a big infusion of talent.

If we don't make big changes to the Offensive coaching staff in the off-season, we are going to be dead in the water next year
