THIS!!! And I thought that Les did not have any command of the English language until I heard Sharon Lewis’s attorney in that press conference. LSU’s lawyers, Taylor Porter’s lawyers, and Les’s lawyers are gonna have a field day against her.

would be interesting to hear Miles testify under oath in a deposition he is sure to face.

The problem is . . .

once you start doing shady stuff, everybody involved becomes your partner in crime, whether you want them to be or not.

If you're paying a player, you have to keep paying that player . . . or he/she will talk.

If you're telling an employee to break a rule, you have to continue employing that employee . . . or he/she will talk.

In other words, Les Miles and Sharon Lewis probably both know things that could get the other in trouble.
Which also means they know things that could get LSU in trouble.

LSU needs to write a nice check for Lewis -- however begrudgingly -- and move on. For its good, and for the unintended relief of Les Miles.

I’d be willing to give her $100 if she knows why Miles didn’t play Jarret Lee on 1/9/12.

I second that emotion! After that fiasco I lost any bit of respect I had for Miles. He capitalized off of Saban's success at LSU. Mediocre coach at best.

agreed. It's the national championship game - a coach should try ANYTHING to try to light a spark. But Les did nothing.

An example of what a coach SHOULD do was from Nick Saban a few years later. In the NC game against UGA, Bama's offense was struggling under Jalen Hurts, who had been hugely successful at Bama for 2 years.

But Saban realized he had to do something, so he put a TRUE FRESHMAN QB in the game and benched Hurts. And it made all the difference.

But Les kept driving us straight off the cliff on 1/9/12.

LSU won more football games for a decade period of time under miles than ANY other SEC program was able to do during that same decade.

If that’s your example of mediocrity, I sure hope it comes back many times over for LSU.

as with any statistic, it must be taken in context to truly understand it.

I'd argue Les underachieved many years, relative to the amount of talent he brought in.

In his last 8 full seasons, Les lost an average of 3.25 games per year. That's completely unacceptable for a team loaded with NFL talent. Beating up on cupcakes and lesser SEC teams makes Les' overall win total look good, but he lost far too many games to the better teams on our schedule.

I would not be so sure about her getting nothing but I suspect that her attorneys have bit off a little more than they can chew. They will be buried in motions and discovery from all those defendants but I could see some of the parties getting out for minimal, cost of defense type settlements.

that won't be a good look or it will be another bad look,

If LSU can find a way to look bad or do something completely irrational or stupid that will be the play. The incompetence “leading” academics and Athletics at LSU is staggering.

yeah, but if she's been doing that for twenty years, she's part of it, not a "victim" of it, just as culpable as anybody else in this non-issue

Les is going to display a resolve like we've never seen at LSU.

This is impossible for me to believe when you’re talking about the guy who was told to stop strangling the offense or he’d lose his job. He showed plenty of resolve there.

It kinda looks to me like Les, for the only time in his life, thought the best defense is a good offense

Underachieved

The same could be said for most coaches of upper echelon programs Not named Nick Saban. I would even wager more than a few Bama fans thought the same thing in 2019 about Nick.

LSU football experienced for the first time in our history a decade where we won more football games than any other SEC program. That’s never happened before. You can try to find ways to discredit that achievement if we want to, I don’t. I think it’s pretty neat but each to our own.
