re: Les miles wanted Dak Prescott to play tight end

So what you're saying is Les offered a big athletic 3* QB a scholarship with the expectation he may want to consider playing Tight End, whereas Saban, Mahlzahn (OC QB coach at Auburn). Or any other SEC school. In fact, he only had 7 offers from FBS schools plus an offers McNeese and Northwestern. Beside LSU and Moo State, TCU was the only other power five school to offer him was TCU. Add to that, he wasn't drafted until the 4th round.
So either Dak Prescott has not been the obvious standout at the next level you seem to think or virtually every coach/talent evaluator is an idiot. Including the Cowboys who didn't think he was worth drafting until the 4th round.

Won't let it go. Les Miles cost us at least 1 national championship. Any chance I see to give him a good kick to the groin. Do so.

That's because Mullen can coach/evaluate QBs. Les would've just squandered that man's talent. Glad he went somewhere else and is having the success he is having.
Dak Prescott has become a really good QB. But goddammit, he ended up in Starkville MS for his college career. Obviously NOONE else gave him a promise to have a shot at QB.
Starkville, think about it.

I am good friends with several members of the media who cover the New Orleans high school scene extensively. They are very close to the situation and all tell me the same thing. Thompson is a great guy and a straight A student. I have met him and had conversations with him although we did not discuss recruiting. I don't think he is that high of a priority for LSU so I wish him luck at State except of course for when he plays us.

The perfect encapsulation of Miles' tenure at LSU.

He wanted Dak to play TE, wow.
Can't get a job now
I am with you completely. Miles should not be lauded for his wasting of the talent and resources at LSU. Lucky for Dak he saw through Les' con.

No. That's not what i said at all.

I understand what you're saying, but i don't understand why it's relevant. The fact remains mullen is a good QB coach who can evaluate/develop raw talent.
Do you disagree with the statement you quoted?

Not offering players that nobody else (practically) is offering?

He also had offers from TCU and Memphis, both of which have had more recent QB success than LSU.

I'm all for hating on CLM when its deserved but unless you called him out for it prior to what he became at MSU let it die. I am sure we recruited players to play other positions and they became successful.

Well that settles it. TCU and Memphis. Yea I'd rather have an offer from them instead of shite schools like Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Georgia, Florida, Florida State.

Dak wouldn't have gotten drafted if he came to LSU
Sure he would have, as a TE just like we recruited him!

That is one reason why Les is gone.

Could be worse...
Mack Brown wanted RGIII to play safety.

Well that can't be right.
One of the smart baws around here said it was Les Miles.

If he Dak would have been a TE at LSU his entire highlight film would be blocking
This is 100% true because before coach O Les would not utilize his TEs coached by Ensminger and as soon as Les was gone balls started to be thrown to TEs.

Each has had a QB drafted in the first round more recently than LSU.

This is another stupid thread. Miles is gone. Let it go! No One else wanted Prescott either except Mississippi State, so Dan Mullen is some kind of genius, but he was offensive coordinator at Florida and could not get an interview when the job came open twice! South Carolina chose Will Muschamp over Mullen. Go figure!
Aaron Rogers had no real offers coming out of college and had to go the Junior College route and then went to Cal. A lot of coaches must be idiots!
Tom Brady wasn't highly recruited and he was taken in the 6th round!! Ryan Leaf was the second overall draft pick in 1998! A bunch ic bigger idiots, I guess!!
The idiotic threads grow more and more on this site!
Look, Miles is gone! Let it go! If not seek him out and tell him to his face what you gutkessly post on this site, but you would never have the stones to say to his face what you post here because those little weeny sissies that are big men behind a keyboard. For years, I have offered some you all admittance to the Tiger Tour completely paid to say in person to Miles and others what you post here, but again no has had the guts to take me up on my offer! Gutless, pure gutless!

He was high on Stephen Rivers.
Rivers had offers from Arizona St, Florida St, Miss St, NC St, Stanford, Tennessee, UCLA, and Vandy.
Dak's only P5 offer until LSU offered late was from Miss St.
Rivers was the 19th ranked pro-style QB in his class and the 15th ranked player in the state of Alabama. Dak was unranked and only the 33rd ranked recruit in the state of Mississippi.
Rivers was more highly recruited. Sometimes guys slip through the cracks, but people really need to stop putting this on Les Miles. He also signed Jerrard Randall that season who was one of the highest rated DT QBs with a bunch of P5 offers. Just because Dak happened to be a diamond in the rough doesn't mean Miles screwed up. For every Dak Prescott, there are dozens of QBs that never play a snap at the collegiate level.
And fwiw, Miles signed his fair share of undervalued recruits. It works both ways.
