Les is a moron. LSU won games in spite of him.

Nick was clean, too, IIRC, but otherwise I agree.

I thought his wife caught him carrying on with some local bigshot's wife, and maybe even Trina Edwards, before she was Trina Edwards?

Unless Trina knew how to discuss how to run against a 4-3, Nick didn't gaf.

No, sir. He did Les with more than any LSU coach in history, except maybe Oeaux
If OkSt doesn’t shite the bed (FG was good I don’t care what you say), LSU skull drags OkSt. Les Miles has 2 national championships to Sabans (at the time) 1. 2 sec titles to Sabans (at the time) 1. And that team probably gets talked about as a top 5 team of all time.
The entire trajectory of the program changes. Yea coulda shoulda woulda but that is the single game that changed the path of his tenure here, and LSU didn’t even play in it.
That season we beat the

He was a good coach but much of his success from Sabans recruits. He refused to adapt to new style of football and his reams were worse every year after 2011.

Here's my take on the situation- prior to the way he left, and some of the shite that came down (bad Kansas team, lawsuits against LSU, lots of wins being vacated), I would say Miles definitely deserved to be in the HoF. He had the best winning percentage in LSU history, the team was dominant for the better part of a decade, had a national title and played for another.
That's enough, that's as much as some others there. That's better than, say, Charlie Mac, who I believe DID get in.
Then things happened, and you assumed he was no longer in play, and it almost seemed that some of this was exposed to ensure his name would drop. Just the way it came out.
Miles deserves the HoF more than Leach does.
Miles suffers from the same thing Barry Switzer did at Oklahoma- any idiot could win with the talent assembled on those teams.
Okay, so how come we haven't found the next idiot to consistently assemble that talent again? Where'd all the 1000 yd RBs, All American corners, safeties, and linebackers go, now that we got rid of Miles?

They lowered the threshold to 59.5% supposedly to let Mike Leach in, but consequently made Les Miles eligible again

Fluke upsets happen. And as it turned out Alabama and LSU, who both had strong resumes and defenses, were certainly the two best teams in the nation that year. The very fact that Ok St could lose to an average-to-poor Iowa State team highlights the reality they weren't worthy of a NC game appearance. I believe Alabama probably would have been chosen even if Ok St had won that game.
LSU's performance in the Superdome rematch was an utter, complete humiliation. Miles personally lost that game with his team's lack of preparation, especially on offense.

No he should not be in the HoF. Most that arguing for him is bc he won a national championship. While that is true, LSU has 2 losses on the year. Thankfully West Virginia shite the bed and lost to Pittsburgh which allowed LSU to get into the NC against OSU. If WV had won, LSU would just be playing in the Sugar Bowl.
The other time he brought LSU to the NC, his ego would not allow him to play the right players nor change the scheme after Bama had shut down his offense. He refused to adapt to the change of College Football.
I was a proponent of Miles for a long time. Felt with his record and the title, he deserved the benefit of the doubt. After the Wisconsin game, his refusal to change after saying for months that he had, there was no doubt he needed to be fired.
His record at Kansas solidified that he was not competent at coaching. The fact that the next coach took Kansas to bowl games and had a winning season was further proof that Miles lost his touch.
His career started well at LSU with Saban players. Something happened after that date in January 2012. He was never the same. 4 years later fired. Then another 4 years later he was fired from Kansas. In an 8 year span fired from 2 jobs after coaching for a national championship.

Man honestly, I’d put in Mike Leach over Les Miles any day of the damn week and twice on Saturdays.

Nah, an undefeated Big 12 champ wasn’t getting left out. The BCS rankings for Bama and OSU were super close even with OSU’s loss. They were in with the win.
