Don't be surprised if LSU goes for the home run with Gruden, Peterson, Harbaugh, and in the end has to settle for Tuberville or Del Rio.
Why would Miles leave? The guy gets extensions to a already huge buyout for good seasons.

They can do much better recruiting a high school coach.
Actually, that was the suggestion of the Denver Post. They were not saying Miles is on the short list, or any list for that matter. Moreover, CU doesn't have the money to pay him.

Settle for Del Rio? We should be so lucky

IMO, LSU would tank under Del Rio. A lot of people, including yourself obviously, disagree.
Del Rio doesn't have the charisma to succeed at LSU IMO.

You should see Miles' iron cross and helicopter.

The charisma? Seriously dude?

in the NFL, Xs and Os wins games.
in college, Recruiting and emotion wins games.
Take that to mean whatever you like (and there's certainly a lot more to it), but generally speaking it's fairly accurate.

Nick Saban oozes charisma.....urban Meyer also a character....geez

No way Jack could handle the charisma it takes for local radio shows or booster events or recruiting

What makes you think del Rio would be successful at lsu? Many on the rant act like he is a savior. I can't see him being able to top 58-16. I also don't think he would keep our recruiting at the level it is. What makes him a popular choice by some of you?
He hasn't had much NFL success either other than keeping his team pretty average.

He's only been an NFL headcoach with LSU ties, great LB's coach for the Ravens and had a pretty good defense as the DC in Carolina, yeah, college kids wouldn't want to play for someone with that resume
Posted on 10/28/10 at 11:04 am to josh336
I think jplsu is confusing the attributes he wants in a dude he meets in a truck stop bathroom vs. what LSU wants in a HC
Posted on 10/28/10 at 11:06 am to BoulderTiger
Let him go and hire Kyle Whittingham.
Posted on 10/28/10 at 11:09 am to josh336
Im not guaranteeing that he would be a bad hire or anything. I was just stating an opinion that I wasn't sure how he would transition into being a college football headcoach at a top program like lsu. I know his resume pretty well but a lot goes into being a successful college head coach other than straight x's and o's.

No doubt, but I have no doubt he could handle the program better than Miles. Making good assistant hires and recruiting are the major hurdles.
