"Although we've come to the end of the road
Still I can't let you go
It's unnatural, you belong to me, I belong to you"

Thank you so much for all you did at LSU! I was a student from 2006-2011 and those were some magical years especially 2007 and 2011. Miles was a great man and great ambassador for LSU. It was a great run, but change was needed! Great times!!!

Coach Miles, I just want to thank you for the way you represented LSU from the day you took over this program until today. Although it's time for a change - you will forever be in our gratitude for the way you conducted yourself, gave all of us unforgatable memories, and made us all proud to be Tigers !! God bless !!

Les,
I thank you for all you did for LSU. I was a student from 2004-2008 and I'll never forget those games. I wish you well in the future and I thank you again for all your hard work.

Bet he'll enjoy the check still. Did you get paid like him?

I'm going to write him a personal note thanking him.

Just a heads up this is a man w family and kids who's talked so long about how much he loved LSU after ingraining his family into the community that is going home tonight to face that family and tell them he lost his job. Personally, while I felt a change of approach was needed and I understand the move, I never root for someone to lose their job and would never cheer for the event in which it does happen. Today is a sad day if anything, Saturday will be the day to celebrate when the Tigers take the field.

It hurts me to see him go out like this, we lost a quality man this weekend.

Thank you coach for all the memories. The 2007 season alone will always be remembered. You're a great guy and I wish you the best of luck going forward wherever you may go.

I wish the admins would delete the negative comments from this thread.
I have many fond memories of CLM for reasons much deeper than many of the tards that post here.
It was time, but damn what a great MAN.
Many here will never understand just how much he loved LSU and what he did to go above and beyond to represent our University. There is a lot of hero worship for the guy who came before him, but I can tell you first hand that CLM did WAY more for LSU and the local community than many before him or many that will hold the position after.
I wish we could fire Alleva tomorrow and hire CLM as AD.
Yes, I said that. I bet many that I knew at LSU would take that in a heartbeat.

I agree about the jerks who shoot their cowardly mouths off behind the anonymity of a keyboard, and I agree that Miles' contributions to LSU football, LSU, and the State of Louisiana far, far outweigh the problems of recent years. I part company, however, on the suggestion that he should be AD. That job requires a perspective and a cold, calculating and pragmatic sense of institutional politics that I don't believe a man of Miles' temperament could adopt.

People who hate Les are the same people who hate the Pope, MLK, etc.... Les is good people and he did great things at LSU for a long time.

Thank you for exiting with class. We can learn something from that.

Les is a class act but the program was headed in the wrong direction. I hate that it came to this decision but it was time for a change.
Thanks for the memories coach!

It was a good run. Hate it's ended in this manner but it's just part of the business. Enjoy retirement and thanks Les!
