The Baker Mayfield comp annoyed me last night. I was like he doesn’t remind me of OU Baker at all. After rewatching it’s definitely Manziel as a better comp.

I really didn’t know he had it like that when he runs. It’s a really legit elusiveness.

I thought he looked like Mayfield at OU before Herbstreit said it. He reminds me more of Mayfield than Manziel.

Manuel was more fluid and smooth (like Russell Sheppard). Leavitt is not as smooth and fluid, but he has speed in a straight line and gets the job done.

Nope, Johnny never beat LSU, couldn’t throw from the pocket. We kept him in the pocket. Sam can throw from the pocket!

He definitely runs like Manziel.

I get the Baker comp but he is slippery and moves just like Johnny. I think it’s a mix of the two.

Baker was a better pure passer compared to last night. But I’m sure the passing game will keep getting better. He’s a fricking weapon when he runs though

He definitely looks like Manziel in particular the foot plant and the head bob fake.

It's a really good running style for a scrambling quarterback.

It worked great for Johnny football.

His running style does remind me of Johnny Football. He gives 110% when running, has unreal cutting ability and phenomenal vision.

Not really into cutesie nicknames but as long as he continues to play well and no let it go to his head like it did with Manziel, call him whatever you like.

Manziel was mostly the product of the best oline in college and Mike Evans. Very little ability to read defenses or go through progressions.

I hadn’t seen Leavitt before last night playing. I thought the Mayfield comparison was spot on. Shockingly accurate.

Same here.

He’s not an arrogant prick like Baker.
He’s faster and has more wiggle than Baker.
