Could you see Manziel doing this?

Go back and look at some Manziel videos. He was just fine throwing from the pocket. He was a better deep ball passer than short/ intermediate routes. As far as comparing running styles , both Leavitt and Manziel have good downfield speed, but Maziel was one of the quickest QBs I have ever seen, especially when evading a pass rush. The Maufield comparison is more apt.

Baker is a way better comp than Manziel IMO

And the scattershot scrambling is like manziel. He had 2-3 scrambles where he looked like a chicken with its head cut off but he was actually running sideways and backwards to leverage blockers.

Beyond the effectiveness of his running, the style reminds me of him. He kind of sticks his chest/gut out and his arms swing low and sort of chaotically. That’s how Manziel ran. JD5 was smooth and fast, like his feet barely touched the ground. Sam’s style definitely not smooth, but he’s very sudden and creative. Super athletic while looking sort of wild.

I was most impressed with how he navigated and climbed up muddy pockets. Some of that you can tell goes beyond just being athletic or a good runner. There’s an instinct for that skill that I feel some guys just have.
