Yea I think many on this board are overrating the value of conference tournaments in the regional placements. In the past, it's not been that much of a factor.

Our only chance to host is of the committee values us losing out 2 top players at the end

Negative ghost rider.
Still agree with you tho. Another factor will be an LSU sellout >>> 15 people in the stands at Florida (parents players probably)

Need Tenner to clobber Florida today

Tcu would win that regional

It’s all speculation right now, even with D1 projections. I’m just curious to see how they use the RPI and the amount of emphasis they put on it. I don’t think it’s really a case that the committee looks at conference tournament to make the decision but the RPI is adjusting with wins and losses in the conference tourney. 25 RPI from LSU is not a good sign as far as hosting comes into play. They actually moved down 2 spots due to the tournament when UF moved up 13 spots to 11th in RPI.

If that ends up being the case they are putting way too much weight into a bullshite conference tournament that had all kind of weather delays and us playing past midnight
Florida was no where near a host before this week
Fans and these dweebs ALWAYS overvalue conference tournaments. The teams have played 50+ games already. 3-4 at the end of the season are virtually irrelevant.
Hell, just last season the rant lost their minds when LSU lost to UGA in the SECT opener. They were convinced that was a “play in” game and it knocked LSU out of the NCAAT.
Reality: That loss meant nothing and LSU got in while UGA didn’t.
LSU’s NCAAT standing, host or not, was set before the first pitch was ever thrown in Hoover

I would much rather this draw personally and being a host and going to Tenn. I would much rather play them in Omaha vice up in Tenn.

That's just not true, at all. Whether you like it or not, these games count just like all the rest, and yes, the committee has had a history of overvaluing a few days in a conference tournament. LSU was a borderline host coming in, and other borderline teams outperformed them. That could very well cost them a host.

They have florida as the 15th host, thats just dumb, other than rpi, what do they have over us? We beat them at their place, they are 18-16 in conference, we finished 18-15, top 50 rpi for each is about the same Finishing 15-15 in the regular season should never get you a host site
I don’t believe 15 wins has every gotten a host site. Went back as far as 2015 and there were none. I think it shows the D1 gang is pulling stuff OU their arse.

These projections that change daily are always 100% correct.

D1 has no idea.
Three years ago the SECT didn’t matter at all “it’s what you do in the regular season” now Kendall is changing his host sites after every conference tournament game

Because they are relying on rpi, and its jumping now more than ever

quote:methinks the D1 guys are doing this "the host spots are changing almost hourly" nonsense because it's time of year where interest is peaking, they want subscribers, etc. But, in the end if they are wrong they'll just get to say something like "well the Cmte apparently valued LSU's series win over Florida more than the SECT, or valued blah blah blah"...
Fans and these dweebs ALWAYS overvalue conference tournaments.

You’re saying this because it’s Florida. If LSU had finished 15-15, every single person on this board would be in agreement that there was no chance of hosting including you.

Sometimes a bad conference record gets balanced out by a good RPI

I kept talking about the importance of winning at least two, while all I kept seeing on here is "this game doesn't matter. LSU is a host, no matter what". The people who are always the most sure of themselves are seemingly always the least informed.
What an awesome post considering we don’t even know yet
