Last night's 'Moral Victory' in regards to players and coaches...

I'm seeing a lot of moral victory (i.e. loser mentality) posts today attempting to put a silver lining on yet another Bama loss, the 7th in a row. Yes, we played hard, never quit and competed for the most part but we still lost & never really had a chance.
Let's hope that the players and coaches do not (unlike many LSU fans) view last nights DEFEAT as a Moral Victory.

Like it or not, we played better than expected. However, we were expected to be 3 touchdowns worse than Bama, and were actually 2.
We need to get a lot better to compete with these guys, but I think last night showed we are a better team than to just get dominated. We played them pretty evenly, they made plays, but we didn't.

It’s not a loser mentality. Y’all who say this are a “want it now” culture with no idea how to get there. We are who we are and last night was a great step to get where we want to be. No one is settling for mediocrity, we just know the process to get there.
What we saw last night was physicality, dominance on the lines, and open receivers everywhere on the field. It’s hard to remember a time where I saw that in a bama game. Yes we need a qb that can go through a progression and hit open receivers. But this team is close to being a complete team.

It's a not a moral victory. Bama has a better team with the greatest coach of all time and LSU played their hearts out until the final snap and had limitations at QB that cost them the game. It's hard to be as pissed off about a team that tried some different things to win even with the limitations at QB (see D Williams almost housing one on the Bama D as the QB). We've been complaining about Bama being more physical than us and that wasn't the case last night.
LSU needs to fix their passing game. Everything else was pretty good. Losing sucks, but there just wasn't that much to bitch about last night.

Let me ask you a question if I may:
Were you actually expecting LSU to beat Bama last night?
If your answer is no, then why the hell do some of you act as though you’re suddenly outraged (like last night was a bad surprise)? We all (most) expected Bama to win this one. LSU showing a little something different was just lagniappe.
Is it really that hard to grasp the concept?

quote:Yes and I posted it on the 23rd. And, I'm not 'suddenly outraged' or surprised by the loss. Whats hard for me to grasp is this continuing acceptance and constant justification of losing to Bama not to mention... The wait till next year mentality.

To be fair, several cheeriOs have conceded next year and have already moved on to 2019.

Well then you’re a fricking idiot. Hoping for it, ok. Expecting it, stupid.

Of course they know a win is the goal but there's a lot to build on. I believe O when he said "we coming"

Want it now? Dumbass, we haven’t beaten them since 2011.

Well, you may be suffering from a “want it now” culture if you expect anything else.

This is everything that's wrong with sports. As if there are no other rewards from competing.
I want LSU to win every game, too. But a lot of people see potential in this team from last night's performance.
Honestly, you're crazy if you can't see it. Last night was a step in the right direction. Something to build on. It wasn't a win. But the effort last night had value, and it's okay for the team to enjoy one of the rewards of that effort: respect from the sane portion of the fan base.
