How is an enhanced security plan going to stop a punk from carrying a handgun?

It’s better than nothing. Keep up the emails, phone calls, and conversations. The word is out now, and if something bad happens, it will be a tragic event highlighted with mud on the faces of LSU admin, city and state leaders.

They already let the foxes in the henhouse by dropping test requirements. You would have to expel the ghetto students to get back to where it was.

Also, the North gates are a primary concern. The area from W. Roosevelt to Mckinnley should all be student housing. It is walking distance to LSU campus but is nothing but slum houses, doubles and slum apartments.
It’s pretty incredible. That area is prime real estate but the city hides behind the title issues and allows crime to fester.

Having more good guys with guns tends to make the bad guys go elsewhere. It’s not going to completely eliminate it but will certainly deter. See the fq crime stats since the governor has made that a priority.

You can thank William Tate for the current situation. Hope Rutgers knows what they got.

Felons can't carry guns. Smell weed? Stop and frisk. Find weed and guns on a felon and arrest. Word will get around. Even if they are let out in a day, it's a disincentivizing hassle.
This is the way.
A la Rudy Giulani cleaning up Manhattan. If they were jaywalking, stop and frisk & check for warrants.

They already let the foxes in the henhouse by allowing the wrestling belt guy to wonder wherever he wants on campus.
He was the only person inside the barrier while the band was coming down the hill on Saturday. I said something to one of the band directors who was walking with me and he just shook his head like nobody will do anything about him.

DeAngelo Sanchez is a former resident of a prison
LSU needs to ban him.

Landry needs to declare a state crime emergency and bypass the local DA and judges. Stop and frisk anyone for anything legit and run them to see if they are wanted. If carrying illegally (with pot) then Straight to tents set up in Angola property for a quick state emergency trial and sentence. WE ARE TIRED OF CRIMINALS!!!!!

Landry's signature legislation is constitutional carry. It has deprived law enforcement of a huge tool in rooting out the kind of behavior that needs to be stopped.
Not at all. Constitutional carry isn’t relevant here. It’s not legal for anyone to have a firearm on campus outside of students within their residences or vehicles.
Illegal carrying on campus
Illegal carry with drugs
Firearm possession by felon
All felonies that need to be aggressively pursued.

Again explain to me exactly how Dr. William Tate is responsible for the current situation?
Enlighten me.
For the down-voters I’ll add for their own benefit and enlightenment:
Tate inherited the holistic admissions policy from F King Alexander who actually inherited it from Sean O Keefe.
Tate reintroduced standardized tests as an admission policy as well as the holistic policy.
He doubled or close to it research expenditures in 4 years. From $300m to just under $600m
He actually reduced and dismantled some of the DEI policies he inherited-and took a lot of shite for it.
And he canned the committee that was set up by F King to change the names of campus buildings.

Those are filled with the hispanic workers that would usually be on campus Sunday morning picking up all the trash whitie and blackie leave on the ground-as in said video.

have visited a lot of SEC venues, and I can’t think of one that has that kind of ghettofied area right off their campus. Most of them are surrounded by nice restaurants, bars, and a safe entertainment district. BR really needs to clean that whole area up and get those smoke shops out of there, or the people with money to spend are gonna start gathering somewhere else.
LSU is not in a “College Town” - it’s a major City and that’s part of the problem.

My son got sick mid 2nd Quarter so we had to leave the game. The gate security was hanging around the gates but they were no longer checking for tickets or searching bags. People were just coming in and out the stadium going as they pleased. I was shocked

That needs to be reported to the AD.
The $10/hour employees don't care except to not allow me to bring an empty diet coke bottle to pour my free Skyline can of diet coke into so it can't spill.
