Can I convince you you’re an idiot, perhaps bigger than the idiot governor? He’s dumb, not that dumb

Either he sounds his ideas in an echo chamber, or he simply misinterpreted some grumbling with an overwhelming support for reigning in the coaching salaries, regardless of how it affects LSU's coaching search, or he failed to consider the consequences of his grandstanding on the current situation all the way around.

he never should have opened his mouth about the LSU coaching situation or the athletic department in general. This type of thing tends to backfire when people don't stay in their own lanes

How exactly is Landry sabotaging LSU? Please do your best to convince me that he is.

100% agree. The only person who looks remotely like an adult here is BK. Imagine that scenario and tell me that was on your bingo card.

You think those companies only started looking at coming to Louisiana in 2023, when Landry was elected governor? They were already in negotiations with the state under JBE.

As poorly as Landry has handled this situation with no transparency, he brought up very valid points regarding these contracts. Look at the disaster BK has turned into. Why should the State not claim cause when BK was basically in semi-retirement?

Thinking is not his strong point.

He didn't bring up points that haven't been brought up before, but it's not his place to do it when him saying what he did is going to have a negative effect on hiring a good replacement. He may not like the market, but the market is the market. His statements aren't going to change the way the business works, not without LSU being collateral damage at least. The only way to turn back the clock on coaching contracts would be a colluded effort by ADs across the country. That's not going to happen. If LSU won't pay, someone else will, and coaches will sign there. Just because you agree that coaches shouldn't be paid how they are doesn't mean it wasn't stupid for the governor of Louisiana to say that in public.

And him not doing his job well is not a claim to fire someone for cause.

That's who I voted for, but he'd likely be wasting his time. The state Republican Party has already promised to whore themselves out for Landry for as long as he needs them to, plus the low-IQ segment of conservative voters love them some Jeff Landry, no matter what he does. They love what he says and posts on his tweeter and don't pay attention to the actions.

How did this dude ever get through law school? I know law school is a lot easier today than when I went but I'm just trying to think how did this guy even get past the bar?

Well yall put him there so you only have yourselves to blame.

When I saw Landry walking by Rocos in Omaha this past summer you would’ve thought Joe burrow was walking by with all the attention he was getting.

His ego is so huge, he is completely tone deaf to criticism. And if he gets any, he swiftly moves to punish them by any means possible. You’ve never met a more petty and vindictive individual.

He isn’t doing it intentionally

He’s using it as a platform to try to prove his MAGA credentials

He got in front of the cameras and fed the media exactly what they wanted. A little coonass making dumbass comments about trump picking a coach and accountability and buyouts and they ate it up.

Little lying landry blew it when he should have just shut the F up!

He was terrible as AG and still won governor in a landslide. I doubt it matters in this state. He isn't going to have a serious primary challenger and has R next to his name so he'll get reelected easily.

Him name dropping Trump in his press conferences showed me all I needed to see about him. He doesn’t care about this state, he’s only angling for a bigger position in the federal government, just like 2nd term Jindal.

God I hope he’s primaried.

He’s a ULL grad that publicly aired LSU’s frustration with Kelly and loudly and vociferously spoke about how poor a job the AD was doing, openly undermining him, and assigning blame to him based on outright falsehoods.

He then proceeded to go on sports podcasts further airing the internal conflict and is now overseeing a contentious negotiation with the fired HC claiming he wasn’t actually fired so that now the school/state is can look for cause so that they can “legally” get out of their own signed contract.

It may not be intentional, but his continued public involvement, installation of Verge as AD, and assignment of the McNeese St. President as the LSU system president are all decisions that do not appear to be in the best interest of LSU, either the school or the athletic department.

It is very possible to comment on the coaching situation and contract without putting your foot in your mouth, Landry is just incapable of doing so.
