The melt on this is odd. Lance rarely hates on LSU. if anything he hates on a&m. He mainly focuses on draft grades and analysis now so knowing people on the staff is likely. I wouldn't think for a second he made this up out of thin air.
The most likely scenario is what we expect: the team while good, is undisciplined and BK first days is setting a new tone. Setting a new tone probably has a lot of whistle blows and the phrase "do it again".
I think we're over 6.5 wins - I think Lance was told practice is a mess so far - Both of these things can be true.

This entire thread is off the rails with people piling on to others bullshite information. I heard the segment this morning and went back and checked it on the podcast (its in the 3rd hour at 29:30 mark). He said absolutely nothing about practice. He said he had a source (which he very likely does) at LSU that said Kelly walked into a bad situation and that it is going to take time to turn it around (which we all knew). They both then commented that LSU is not going to be very good this year and Zierlein ragged on John Granato for not being his normal LSU fan boy self.
Also, Zierlein is not the voice of the Texans as he actually works for a competing radio station. He and Granato have had a show together for two decades and if you've followed their show, its obvious they realize Houston is a huge LSU market and they treat it as such. And yes, Wendy Granato (wife of John) is an exec at a Houston television station and is an alum and huge LSU fan and they usually make a few games in BR each year.

I didn’t listen to the segment, but shame on Granato if he didn’t stand up for the situation that BK was left. Yes, Granato is married to someone from my hometown (Da Berry). She’s the GM for ABC13 in Houston. Her older brother and I are friends.

Some good players there and some guys who have transferred in to raise their profile for the scouts.
I do like that 8 of the projected starters on defense were D1 starters last year. So not a huge youth issue there
Offense has talent but it is very inexperienced other than WR.
I think 8 wins is the ceiling because of major depth issues at RB, CB and LB. we need Penn and Jones to stay healthy and be impactful. That would help a lot
If Converse can’t stay healthy, I can see Welsh as a freshman who gets a chance to make an impact
