We better hope the Freshmen RBs are ready to carry the load. Lanard was not great but was a serviceable complimentary back who could catch out of the backfield. We may miss him more than you all think. He had already used his RS year up so makes sense he wants to move on with the next phase of his life after 4 + years of CFB service

I’m simply saying as an outsider it seems odd to not want to be a part of this team this year. You get access to top flight facilities and are treated like a god at LSU.

He's had that for 4 years already. Maybe he's just over it? Maybe he's just tired and doesn't feel like busting his arse for next to nothing is worth it. I get it that the team has a chance to go far this year, but how much should he care if his contribution is irrelevant?

He most likely has no future in football after this season, so maybe he is burnt out and just wants to do something else?

Lanard probably needs to go to Montana to reinvent himself.

Well now he’s not on the team.

You seriously think people would remember the 3rd/4th string senior RB on this team if he stayed?

You premise that he would be remembered, but now he won't is dumb as shite. He wouldn't be remembered regardless. Don't be stupid.

Lanard was quoted as saying “y’all pass the ball too much. This shite ain’t even fun no mo”.

P.S.
he didn’t really say this, but it would kind of be funny if he did.

Yeah, I saw that prior to the sticky that said he had withdrawn. I suspect there is something going on that will require him to avoid contact for a period of time to properly heal. He received a degree in sports administration in May.

He may have decided the team really doesn't need what he brings in blocking and pass catching and that may have looked different in may when he could have Opted to leave (not sure how that affects available scholarship at that point).

Davis-Price looks like he has picked up the blocking fairly well and is running really well. Emery looks like he could break one on any carry. CEH is performing at his highest level thus far. All of the backs are catching passes fairly well.

Good luck to Lanard in all he does.

Or maybe he's got better shite to do now that he's graduated and has a degree.

He owes nothing to LSU

What the hell is wrong with you? That young man took a scholarship to play football for LSU this season. That's a scholarship that could have gone to someone else who might be able to contribute to the team. He accepted that scholarship to play for LSU this season.

And you think that he didn't owe the season to the team? Again, what the hell is wrong with you?

This makes me sad.

Love LF 27.

Good luck, young man!

sorry, folks, but Lanard quit on his team. Unless there's a personal reason he quit, this doesn't look good.

What if we have a rash of RB injuries? This one less solid RB in our stable of backs.

Just ask yourself - if a RB at Alabama did this, wouldn't we all call him a quitter?

how do you know this wasn’t discussed at length with the coaching staff and isn’t a mutual agreement?

he started the season at #2 on depth chart and now closer to 4th.

he and O may have had multiple sit down discussions and decided together it was in the kid’s best interest to move on.

why hold the kid back if everybody knows his opportunities will be limited at best?

in which case he doesn’t owe anyone anything.

he came here worked his arse off to help the team and earned a degree in the process.

Let's face it, his brother got him on the team. He should never have come here and should have went to a place he could have started and thrived. He is not the best or in the top 4 or 5 best, he has to know that. If he graduated, he has all the free time in the world, why not stay with the team and have fun and maybe be part of something special. He's a quitter and he let down his team and his fans. I wonder if he got any advise from his brother, because his brother's attitude seems to be in the gutter lately also.

I know this didn't happen because I am not an idiot. Quitting on the team because you aren't getting enough playing time is selfish and pathetic.

Maybe he wasn’t happy or invested in what he was doing and decided to move in a different direction in his life? Is that so wrong to want to make a decision that you feel is in your best interest mentally and physically?
