This ump picks and chooses when to call the outside pitch a strike.

You’re actually in here trying to defend this god awful performance by the ump
You can't change him sucking while you are at bat. Even in little league we see how the ump calls it and keep telling our kids "he's calling them high, swing at those". Otherwise it's shaking a fist at clouds, pointless. Adjust.

Umps are the best argument for their replacement

Berry, Doughty, Gio, and more crookedness due up after the stretch

Nearly impossible for him to throw a cutter from that arm angle so I seriously doubt it.

Give Berry some credit on that play. That guys got a family to think about

I was one of those guys “in blue” during my day. Nobody is perfect. These aren’t MLB umps and they get crapped on all the time.
One shitty ump making excuses for another.

Don’t get me wrong. I love it and the game should be played that way. I just get worried as he approaches the wall and dugout steps going 100 mph.
I get it. I’m just speaking as someone who’s competed that way my whole life. Even now in adult league sports, my coach gave my knee and elbow pads to wear on the tennis court bc I am known for diving after balls and jumping over benches when I can’t slow my momentum.
The flip side is when that focus or intensity is dialed back and you’re just “off”. I’ll take the injuries over being off any day.

If that’s a fastball that’s ridiculous though? Maybe it’s like a high velo slider?

Doughty up, 1 out
strike, 0-1
low, 1-1
flyout to deep center at the warning track

I think he’s mostly fastball, showed maybe 1 changeup to Netterville, and a few slurves
