One thing I have learned on this board, you can't have fun at a football game unless you have LED lights and play Neck
The A&M cult is based on TRADITIONS, they are loyal to them. Freaky midnight yell, farmers and milkmen for cheerleaders, and they dont buy into a different designer uniform for each game. Those people grow up on this shite and it's a part of their inner being. LSU used to be like that, but everybody thinks we need to change things up and be progressive.

I’m not denying that the students don’t care as much as they used to. You’re right about that. But the student section has been full for every game this year. You can’t say that about any other part of the stadium. The majority of the students are doing chants. I’ve been to the Tenn and Ole Miss games this year, and I’d say less than half of the people in sections that I’ve sat in did any chants or made noise.

No contraflow? Pretty flashing lights?

Nope. That Aggie fan base comes from all over Texas. I spend a lot of time in Texas, and that fan base is far more passionate than LSU’s, or any other fan base in college football.
They get a lot of grief about their traditions, and that yell practice - a good tradition, in theory - is lame as hell, but they are passionate about their Aggies the way LSU was passionate about their Tigers from the 1950’s through the 1980’s.

My grandson graduated from A&M…and it is kind of a cult. At the grad ceremony, most of the speeches began and ended with “gig um”. Frog hunters are just different.

haven’t been since 2016. Flying in next week. What’s the biggest changes. Parade grounds were always college craziness. Bell Tower through quad and Indian mounds down to the PMac we’re always good alumni/local setups and west side to me was always the commuters and RV lots. What’s changed?
There are still pockets of good tailgating but it isn’t widespread like it used to be. Almost all of campus has slowly become reserved parking, more every year. The entire interior of campus isn’t filled with tailgaters like it used to be. Parking not allowed on the side of Nicholson anymore, tailgating killed there.

You are correct. They have real fans. We have fragile ones and it gives that huge stadium of our a bad look.

If you are a bitch.
I’ll take tiger Stadium at 80% any day of the week.

I lived in College Station for 7 years. Give me a belligerent fan base that seeks the greatest, has a drinking problem, and leaves early over anything the Aggies have.
Anyone who is sucking off that environment should join the perennially losers who have no grit, talk tough and think money is how you win.

What is there to do in Baton Rouge?
You have campus and the area immediately surrounding it, then to the north you have a ghetto, to the south and the east you have miles of suburban sprawl, chain restaurants, mattress outlets, and car dealerships.
I’ll never understand the BR homers who act like it’s a nice place to be. When judged against “college towns” or cities in the SEC footprint, BR is only ahead of Starkville.

Most of the lsu students I see at games are soft as frick. There to socialize and leave early…make minimal effort to impact the environment and are more worried about what’s on their phone or taking selfies.
I hate to admit it but they don’t have the passion you see at several other schools

Yea man I can agree with that. Just think we can give A&M core fan base some credit without any underlying reasons. They may just have a larger core fan base that go to all games. Given to population difference it makes sense.
While I don’t go most games as I prefer to watch the game at home, I do make it a point to stay until the end. No matter who we are playing.

Maybe if they actually live in College Station but the majority of fans are coming from out of town. I live about 50 minutes from CS. After a game it is a couple of hours to get home. Their traffic sucks too.

I followed A&M growing up and went there my freshman year. This was big 12 days when 9-3 was a fantastic season. They get a lot of hell on this board but they always fill up for games. Even when losing the student side was always full.
