He quit on his team when he sat out that first bowl game. I get y’all like him. I’m glad he’s gone. So be it. It’s finally over. Let’s all start rooting for next years backup quarterback if we ever get one. Peace out.

He’s not a kid, he’s a professional athlete
quote:What a crock.quote:He actually did not quit on his team. He came back for his senior season and did not transfer and chase $ when he had ample opportunities to do so. In this day and age when everyone complains about players not being loyal and transfer year in and year out you should respect players who stay. . . .
I’ll never understand y’all love for a guy who quit on his team and the LSU fans.
So again, this has nothing to do with anything other than respecting the player who stayed at LSU for 5 years and stayed multiple times when he could have transferred or gone pro after last season but came back to LSU for his love of the school and teammates.
Nussmeier was paid between $3.6 million and $4 million, placing him in the top-ten of highest paid college athletes.
Of course he didn't transfer to chase money. No one else but LSU was going to pay him that much.

It's a miracle that hes all of a sudden healthy after the season is over

That is not what makes a professional athlete. LSU is not a professional organization.

Nuss was only given that deal when he chose to comeback to LSU after 2024. He chose not to transfer after 2021 & 2022 when he would have been given deals.
Again, in a world where everyone complains about no loyalty and players transferring every year I find it very funny when you bash the kid that stayed for 5 seasons. LSU fans complain about other fan bases but the fact of the matter is LSU fans are some of the worst toward their own and its disappointing.

Did you pay attention to his footwork? Because that's why his arm strength sucked, not because of some mysterious "injury" that even he denied.
I'd love to see your footwork and how well you step into throws with a fricked up abdomen.

Actually it is what makes a professional athlete! Especially 6 million dollars! Don’t be naive.

quote:Oh sure, sure, sure. Nuss did not come back for the money. "Nuss was only given that deal when he chose to comeback to LSU after 2024." LSU told Nuss, "Thanks for coming back. You know what? We got this extra $3.6 million sitting over here in a couple of boxes taking up space. Would you please help us get rid of these boxes?"

I'm just not placing him on a pedestal for sticking with the employer who offered the most money.

What did he do to deserve a invite?

You're taking what I said out of context. I was saying he wasn't given that deal in 2021 or 2022 when he could have transferred. He was given that deal to come back to College instead of going pro. Jesus you like to twist words around.

This is completely incorrect. But believe what you will.

No one is putting him on a pedestal. Its respecting that he stayed at LSU for 5 years in an era where that doesn't happen. And again, you can think he only stuck around LSU for the $ but its factually incorrect. That is mischaracterizing the situation and player. Move on.

Nuss was never injured. It’s time everyone accepted that he just sucked so much arse this year he quit on the team
He got fat and lazy once he cashed in his NIL checks

His Father is a NFL Offensive Coordinator for starters.

He’s made more to sit on his arse and suck in one year than most make busting their arse for a career. He can easily be called out.

quote:You don't think we would have pursued someone better than MVB in the portal to be our starter? It's not unreasonable to think we could have gotten someone much better than injured Garrett to play this season.
Had he not sat out the first bowl game, then he would not have been around for this season, and we wouldn't have won half the games we did.
Posted on 1/6/26 at 11:19 am to UncleLester
He was definitely hurt
I think he could have played vs Oklahoma and Houston, and we could’ve used him for those games. MVB was better mid-season.
Best of luck to him I guess. Past is the past

He wasn’t hurt. He refused to run and every team knew that. He stunk it up and then faked an injury to save face. His loyalty is not to LSU, it’s to the all mighty dollar. He proved that by sitting out of not one but two bowl games
Man, we really have some dumb MFers in our fan base. Quite sad, TBH.

His dad got him in. If he was hurt early in the season, he should have sat and maybe he would have been healthy a couple of weeks later.
Instead, he played hurt, it got worse, and really hurt his team. I still think he played hurt early on to get his money because he had a minimum playing time to reach his money deal. Again, only my opinion.
We are really seeing the LSU culture in the NIL era with all these transfers. Most of these guys are now seeing COLLEGE football as a way to make the most money for their future, not the NFL.
Hey, I'll make a few millions in college transfering every season, then live the life of luxury the rest of my life.
Lane really has to change this culture.

Yeah and I’m sure his father had some insight on the path he should take.
