In The Advocate sports, Brooks Kubena noted Mainieri’s first remarks since returning to the office a week after LSU’s loss in the Super Regional, “I wish I was in Omaha”. The report noted there will be plenty of turnover on the roster, and that Tiger coaches are scouring the countryside for replacements, which fans were expecting.

But the real news concerned LSU’s pitching injuries. The report noted that “Mainieri is doling out a summer of rest to most of the pitchers.” Those on the list include Cole Henry, Jaden Hill, Devin Fontenot, Landon Marceaux and Eric Walker. Mainieri can’t afford another year like the previous, so hopefully this helps.

So basically he recapped everything that was said in yesterday’s press conference?

Where is the link and how is this different than what was posted from the press conference yesterday? You know, other than the obvious exaggeration here:

What is PM doing or not doing with respect to the pitchers' injuries? Is a summer of rest going to matter if they come back and the same system is still in place?

Most of these guys are overworked before they ever arrive at LSU.

Care to enlighten us on the system that's in place that is hurting the pitchers?

From the press conference yesterday

quote:

Mainieri notes the first six years Alan Dunn was at LSU, “I can’t remember an injury” to a pitcher. “The last two years, we’ve had a barrage.” Says Dunn hasn’t changed a thing and that several were high school injuries they came to #LSU with (Storz, McMurray).

If you notice, I was asking about it bc I don't know. Feel free to answer or fill in the blanks.

He's not exaggerating. From 2012-2017:

Nola
Guasman
McCune
Glenn
Poche
Lange

Basically until Walker got hurt during the CWS 2017, I can't think of a single one of our Friday/Saturday starters getting hurt.

Nobody on this board knows, or at least has not cared to share. We don't know that anything LSU is doing is causing injuries.

It’s all thanks to Travel Ball. This will become the new norm across college baseball

Stortz and Labas didn't pitch this year, so no reason to order rest!

it absolutely matters. The most you want to do is keep your arm conditioned. It’s about muscle memory and not overusing the arm.

complete bull shite. It’s about use. All new freshmen coming in just need to throw that summer after high school and NOT IN THE FALL OUTSIDE OF STAYING CONDITIONED. Not overusing his arm.

So the "Mainieri and Dunn are to blame" crowd is back?

Cole Henry, one of those that experienced injury this season said flat out and directly, Mainieri is very cautious with arm injuries and will pull a pitcher at the first word

From the mouth of Henry

He also said that the first "arm soreness" was a forearm strain and the second injury had nothing to do with the first one

But of course Mainieri, or as morons here like to say "Marinara" or the worst "Pulmonary", is to blame for a future cause of injury that no one had reason to look for

Wrong. The travel ball coaches need to stop using these kids to throw so much just for their own benefit of winning. These guys have futures and more important things than winning the Perfect Game World Series
