There ought to be films made for student athletes shown starting about seventh grade and required to be showed by every coach of every sport quarterly at every level including through college. Have graphs and photo examples for the young guys to explain what $60,000 [or less] really buys. In contrast, show other tracks of educated students earning power and the likelihood of accomplishing that. If anything, it can encourage them to stay in school. More so, it may encourage them to find a major that they can handle academically that has good paying jobs at the other end.

Why are we so focused on the NFL. He also could have come back, completed a meaningful degree..then made a handsome living anywhere in the US. He however chose to be under educated and unemployable after people realize he likes to smoke weed and sleep late.

Those insurance policies are only so much. And they aren’t going to sell a huge insurance policy to a guy who isn’t guaranteed to get drafted.

Huh? You think they just fling out insurance policies to marginal talent..that would last as long as life insurance companies offering steep discounts to diabetics who smoke.

Playing at LSU screwed up Dupre's career, kid never developed with the nonexistent passing game there, just like DJ Chark, but Chark should make it with the speed and size he has. If he had it all over again I'm damn sure Dupre wouldn't pick an LSU. Lol

Most of these kids that go early for a mere pittance is lol funny, makes you wonder who's giving them advice.

Look, I'm all for a guy leaving early if he's got a very good chance to get drafted and actually make a roster, and his chances of improving his draft stock with another year in college is low. Then it makes financial sense.

But to leave early and go undrafted? The chances of making a roster as an UDFA are low. It does happen every year, but low odds.

Without some very unique circumstances, it makes more sense to stay in school, kick arse, and improve your stock.

well said, All for the guys to make a good living, but we lose 5-8 every year that go undrafted and could really do some damage for their senior seasons and leave with a degree in hand..

They said the myth of alums hooking you up with an awesome job is overrated. Heck Tyrone prothro was a bank teller for a while. And he played at Alabama.

Seems like the myth is actually a myth. He got that job.

Will never sniff the field just like 921/2 % of all free agents. Poor judgement living off his stars from high school . I know the family and it was predetermined the day he signed

If he makes the practice squad and make 6 figures for half a year while learning under an actual NFL coach vs coming back to play for free....

Or he could come back to LSU, work his arse off and be a drafted in the top 3 rounds with guaranteed millions.

Most of these posts are people mad about juniors leaving early and leaving the team in a worse spot. Nothing to do with you really having these young men's best interest.

Obviously you didn't read these posts. We are saying it is in the best interest of the players (and obviously the school) if they came back and tried to improve and move up in the draft.
