If the kids leave college early and go UDFA they generally leave without a degree.

Which means after getting cut they either go back to college or they end up doing some job that does not require a college degree. Some may get breaks, but many don't and end up stocking groceries or other things.

You need a new energy company.

Or, he could have come back, started, been drafted in the mid rounds and pretty much guaranteeing himself a roster spot and half a mil per year minimum.

Or he could have stayed put in a body of work and got a couple hundred thousand signing bonus and a multi year dear worth a mil or two.

Or could get a major knee injury playing in college and really frick up his career. You see it goes both ways.

relax Francis. "Keeping the lights on" is an expression, meaning the cost to live, not literally the electricity cost of lighting at your home.

Yeah LSU really sucks at developing DBs we have no successful ones in the NFL.

And yeah being a scholarship athlete at LSU is worthless.

are you honestly arguing that it makes sense to leave early and go undrafted?

Look, I'm all for a guy leaving early if he's got a very good chance to get drafted and actually make a roster, and his chances of improving his draft stock with another year in college is low. Then it makes financial sense.

But to leave early and go undrafted? The chances of making a roster as an UDFA are low. It does happen every year, but low odds.

Without some very unique circumstances, it makes more sense to stay in school, kick arse, and improve your stock.

I completely understand, and for guys that have a very good shot at making a roster, they should go.

But for a guy that has a very low draft grade, the chances of even having any NFL career are very low. Better to come back to school and improve your stock.

Yeaaa I doubt any football player who was an UDFA is gonna be working for Popeyes.

I’m pretty sure the connections they made throughout college and even the draft can land them a job in the sports world Lol

Trindon Holliday works at Shintech
Stanley Roberts works at CB&I

Neither make more that 60k/year

He'll make the Bears team I think easily as I said in another thread. He underachieved in his LSU career where he was hyped as the next Patrick P, and not many incoming rookie CB's played in the SEC against the stellar competition that he faced week in and week out. They'll see his talent immediately and that this kid can play and should have been drafted.

Honestly, I don't know why most of them don't get into coaching, there is real good money to be made in coaching. I would have done it full time if I could turn back the clock. You have spent most of your young life in and playing sports, it is an easy transition to pass that knowledge down to up and coming generations.

Of course he could have spent the last 3 years "learning" under Corey Raymond and earned a $22.25 million contract like Jamal Adams. But hey, lets blame the coaches and not the uncoachable players.

Scared money doesn’t make money. He has never started for LSU nor has he shown why he should be drafted in the 3 years he had been tiger.

You have to make it the coordinator level at a college to make good money in coaching

That's not true, you have assistant coaches out there making 400,000 grand a year, that's good money. The average person isn't gonna make that kind of money, even head coaches at small colleges are earning a good livving.

Being drafted in the 5-7th round gives you the same risk as being undrafted. I doubt he could have come back and bumped himself up to a 1-4 round pick
