When all this happened I told my OM friend there’s 5-6 players we want and will try to get and we will get 3-4
Now I thought the 3-4 would be Lacey and Chablis and the WR but we got about what I suspected.
The outcome would have been roughly the same if Kiffin coached but I dont think lsu would have had this class. OM messed up critically.

Total failure! #1 portal class could have been even higher. Kiffin really lost out not getting more Ole Miss players.

Heck they were in playoffs and Ole Miss tried to overpay to keep top players and starters and we still pulled a few of those

Ole Miss manipulated their best players to re-sign riding the emotion of a playoff run and overpaid them to keep them away from LSU.

Glad he didn't rape his former team like the other 2 coaches did. Can you imagine the hate and negative press he would have gotten. Not a word was said about the other 2 coaches. Glad he said frick it I can do it in my own again

The other schools did not have half their old staff staying in place with built-in relationships with the players and a default position of wanting to keep them. Campbell brought in 30+ players from Iowa St pushing out many players on the PSU roster. The situations just aren’t the same.

Them making it as far as they did had everything to do with that. That, and Ole Myth rushed to sign their returning players to NIL agreements, several of them evidently lowball agreements, very quickly before the portal officially opened.
Princewill leaving is a pretty strong indication that the post-run spell has worn off. It’s just not worth paying buyouts for more than one guy and there’s only a few we would want to target who would leave. We got the ones we needed.
