I just think he’s shocked at the number and how it’s hit so many key guys but this guy has made chicken salad out of chicken shite before. Not saying it won’t affect us but we’re going to remain as dangerous a team as there is.

You do realize that about 80% of the roster turns over year over year - right?

No, because that number is made up and not correct.

I think our only chance of making any noise is squeaking by with no more than one more loss and hope a lot of the injured guys can come back and have enough time to get back up to speed before the regular season ends.

I think 9-3 is likely our ceiling with these injuries.
Agreed

Even if healthy, after the Ole Miss loss, 9-3 was probably the most likely record any way. 10-2 was in play, but getting through the season with only 1 more loss even when healthy was not likely imo.

Keys and Singleton looked good and are actually faster than Weeks. The biggest thing you lose is leadership but Dottery will be able to help with that.
Uhh, speed is not the only thing that matters for a linebacker, which is basically exactly what you said here.

I'm not saying Keys can't come in and do well...it's a downgrade, our defense is worse off with Weeks out, and certainly not ONLY because of leadership.

Green was out vs. A&M. He was not necessarily replaced. But his production was. The passes that may have otherwise gone to him went to Harris who had a monster game. LSU did not really miss a beat from a production standpoint.

Having 1 good game does not mean we have it figured out and won't miss Green.

That's not how it works.

The argument isn't that without Green the offense is terrible or can't have any good games.

I didn’t think this was our year. I thought it was too much to expect playoffs in year 1 of Kiffin.
You don't spend top 3-5 money in the portal at a top flight program like LSU and then say you can't expect this team to be 1 of the best 12 in the nation.

Missing the playoffs would absolutely mean LSU did not play to expectations this season.

That being said, injuries do suck and can derail a season, and Kiffin certainly should receive grace if it's pretty clear that injuries are the reason we didn't meet those expectations.

With Trey’Dez being out, our offense has found its identity, running a true pass offense instead of focusing on one player.
He was 2nd on the team in catches before A&M, stop pretending the offense was trying to only focus on him.

Speaking of Kiffin’s demeanor and body language, I’ve found him to be holding back on emotions and being very understated since he arrived here. I counted that as him being mindful of the circumstances of him leaving Ole Miss and coming here. Like a guy that stole a girlfriend from a friend and felt a little bad about it.

All of that was gone after the game Saturday. I think the conversion on 4th and 1 changed that. Kiffin should be Kiffin and not hold back.

My bad… I just looked it up….66% turnover..

So 2 of every 3 players won’t be back. (This include the walk ons who aren’t playing or leaving. lol)

No, we were trying to get him the ball as much as possible. Not necessarily a bad thing, but forcing others to get involved progresss the offense faster.

Of course, as we should have been doing.

Not necessarily. I could just as easily say getting the ball to your best players progresses the offense faster.

Again, 1 good performance against A&M doesn't prove a point. It's a 1 game sample, and the Oline pass pro against A&M compared to the Ole Miss game was infinitely more instrumental in the difference in the passing game than TreyDez Gree being available vs absent.

You're also arguing that Lane Kiffin doesn't know how to get the most out of good offensive players, which no one should believe, that's probably the main reason we got him...we know he's elite at that.

I never said this, much less argued it.

Ok. So there were no specific plays designed for Trey’Dez, got it.

Awfully odd coincidence that Jackson Harris, one of LSU’s biggest receivers, had a breakout game the first game Trey’Dez didn’t play.

But you’re right, the offense and/or Jackson Harris didn’t progress without Trey’Dez.

You argued that Lane Kiffin didi not progress the offense fast enough because Treydez Green was on the team.

So now your argument is that we should not have specific plays designed for Treydez freaking Green?

There's quite literally zero reason to think the offense would not have been even better this past Saturday if Treydez Green played, they almost certainly would have been.

But you’re right, the offense and/or Jackson Harris didn’t progress without Trey’Dez.
Again, put all your eggs in that 1 game sample size basket. it's almost like, someone has to catch the passes when your best pass catcher is not playing. You seem to think because Treydez Green is good that a Lane Kiffin offense playing well after a good player gets hurt proves that the team is better off without that player.

Arguing that we're better off with Zach Grace getting Green's snaps is hilarious
