I’m several pages behind, but Jake was definitely bunting for a hit. With the shift and the infield deep, a LHP who falls off to the 3rd base side, it wasn’t a terrible idea to bring the tying run up with 0 outs and 3, 4, 5 coming up. It just wasn’t a very good bunt. But there’s zero chance it was meant to be a sacrifice.
