Also, I imagine once this year ends the argument will emerge defending JD's 2022 and 2023 as the best 2-year stretch of QB play in LSU history (the best individual year isn't likely to ever be topped, and nobody is arguing that).

Defense looks lost, lifeless and looks like they have no leadership. Don’t see any one player trying to take control and be the qb of the defense and be that guy.

I would not have let House board the plane. What we are seeing from our sidelines is an abomination .

That should be Perkins. But the coaches brilliantly changed his position during the offseason.

Was it LSU’s defense that got two penalties in the same final offensive drive?

Nay.

The other poster is asking for a leader to get everyone organized. Why would we pick Perkins, who doesn't even have an elementary grasp of off ball LB, to do that? He is part of that problem.

And if you want him rushing the passer more, then he will not be able to get anyone lined up.

Daniels production is quite simply amazing and we still have a contingent of fans that blame him for losses

I made a thread about that last night but it was moving way too fast to link the threads, so when people were saying I was lying and nobody was blaming JD, I had to abandon the thread b/c it was not possible to locate the threads.

One is still alive this morning, though, on page 1.

Going back to the topic, I truly think this isn’t necessarily a talent issue. I think our defensive issues are 80% scheme related and 20% talent deficiency. We do ourselves no favors with the scheme. The 10 yards off the ball corners, hiding Perkins, bringing pressure once in a blue moon. All of these are asking opponents to sit back and pick their spots.

JD is a top 3 qb in the country. He made some NFL passes yesterday. Hell the pass on the last play of the game was perfect

I’ve been critical of JD and the offense at times, but if you score 49 points, you should win 100/100 times. The errors were a function of the pressure being put on the offense all game.

The defense couldn’t even give the offense more time by letting ole Miss score faster.

Nobody with a pair of functioning eyes is blaming Daniels. I see this has become the new coping mechanism.

7 points in the 4th quarter. Ole Miss had 21.

That TD shouldn’t have counted. So they really were shut out in the 4th quarter.

There are also clear communication/assignment issues.

There is also signaling to the offense with our fronts (hence the tosses all night last night) with no adjustments.

I thought last night was one of the best QB performances in LSU history.

No I didn't.

Les Miles mentality and clock issues? Yes.

The clock management reared its ugly head again last night, too.
