You think Kelly is going to solve this with elite recruiting?

I didn’t understand punting on the last offensive drive. Defense hasn’t stopped anyone all game and you trust them to win it? Stupid.

Going back to the topic, I truly think this isn’t necessarily a talent issue. I think our defensive issues are 80% scheme related and 20% talent deficiency. We do ourselves no favors with the scheme. The 10 yards off the ball corners, hiding Perkins, bringing pressure once in a blue moon. All of these are asking opponents to sit back and pick their spots.

Sounds like USC's defense is better than ours, huh?

Florida State, a game Daniels had almost 350 yards passing and 64 yards rushing. Over 400 total yards.
Cool did they win? Nope!

I remember when Brennan came out and had 350+ in his first theee games and no one gave him credit because they lost.

Kelly is bad at game management and panics.

It's who he is.

This is why his utter incompetency in that area was such a hot topic a week ago. All the imbeciles trying to argue "but we won, who cars?" now look even more dum.

You realize the defense isn't improving, right?

I'm sorry, but the defensive players we have out there are not historically bad players. You can't convince me of that at all. A decent DC wins that game last night.

If you would have told me this group of players would give up a record number of yards to Ole Miss, I wouldn't have believed it. 500 yards and 35 points? Yeah, I could buy that. But 720+ Yards and 55 points? LOL

No, that's coaches.

yep, went right through Hilton's hands. We could be bitching about a close win today. Daniel's has taken his game to that next level throwing the ball

Yeah they are killing it. You are weird with this odd Lincoln riley obsession. He was never coming here.

Defense looks lost, lifeless and looks like they have no leadership.

It’s maddening. Guys out of position, missing assignments, and poor tackling fundamentals. And there seems to be no fire or drive to get it fixed.

Talent or not, there’s no excuse for playing for a SEC team and having poor fundamentals. And that’s on the coach.

If you don’t build from within and cherry pick from the portal this will happen.

Leadership, trust, new scheme, and new environment for these young men don’t always produce unit you want.

Two schools of thought now. Keep going and try to outscore everyone, or play the young guys and give them the experience you need to be successful down the road.

Team stat.

We're talking about individual QB play.

I dont think it has to be elite, how about a defense that just gives up 400yds a game

For real though, the best players on defense are the kids from Kelly's last two classes. That gives me some hope. The Upperclassmen left over from O and portal guys brought in as stop gaps have not been great at all. It's been a perfect storm of bad

If anyone needs further proof that this mouth breather is blaming daniels for the loss, here we are. He thinks nuss would have won the game by himself

will never understand how clock issues are a thing. Literally have an assistant coach work on clock and probability. Take the TE coach or some shite and have him study it 3 hours a week.

I felt like we exaggerated them because every coach does them. Even Bill with the patriots and Tom Brady.

When I was really into the nfl you’d see a slew of boneheaded mistakes every weekend from coaches.

Only scoring 7 points in the 4th quarter( which shouldn’t have counted) while ole miss scores 21 didn’t help. Max J overcame a shite defense who allowed 49 a few years ago. Why couldn’t JD?

It would be one thing if the defense was out manned and getting beat but there is wide open WRs every play, zero pressure and piss poor tackling

That’s all coaching and scheme

We have to play the young guys.

Kelly's elite talent from 2023 should be ready by now, anyway. Weeks and Womack make plays when given time.

The problem is that Kelly wants a complicated zone scheme, and House is all about that life, so because these guys don't know every assignment as well inferior older players, they "don't know the scheme" and they won't play them.

Same shite is holding back usage of Perkins. They want him to "learn to play linebacker" which is nerfing any impact and wasted and offseason of development. Now he's in no man's land, wasting a year, and we have 1 more year of him (and he doesn't project to be ready for that role by then).

This is why Aranda was so good. Dude had a desired D, but would mold his scheme around the talent he had. And, most importantly, he had the ability to communicate with the players so that they understood their roles. House comes off as the guy who communicates one way and has no ability to understand how to transfer the information about his defense to players outsdie of that. Then he punishes the kids for his inability to communicate.

Yeah and it's not like one positional group is the weak link. We are blowing assignments at all 3 levels.

It's literally impressive how terrible the defensive coaching has been this year.
