Your sig line is perfect for this board. I definitely don't think LSU should go crazy with any extensions though. Not that I think we win out anyway. That's just my opinion though.

No. How bout a nice severance package, a thank you, and a foot on the backside out the door.
Good luck hiring his replacement that would be worth a damn. The thing a lot of folks don't understand (apparently your are in this group) is that hiring a great coach or leader for your team or business depends a fair amount on how you treated their predecessor. I can guarantee you that any school that fired a long term coach after he wins a natty would struggle to replace him with a better hire.

It feels different because his seat is hot. Once that passes, he'll revert back to his ground and pound. It doesn't take much to sway some of you people.

IF and a big IF Les was so fortunate to win out AND win the natty, HE would be wise to play his cards right, take the buyout and exit stage right, he ain't getting a fricking extension after all of this BS...

So only 24 regular season games until we ha competent QB play. Not bad, eh? Thankfully we have the coveted 2nd string transfer to save the day

yeah no matter how bad a coach seems it would be insane to fire him after a national championship

24 is less than 48, is it not? I know facts don't go over well on tRant.

He automatically gets a raise to $7 million if he wins a NC

I hate to say this because I don't like being super negative, but a Les Miles contract extension would ruin this football program for a lot of years.
Miles helped establish this program with a "brand" which is great, and thank you Les, but that brand is very fragile right now. 3 or 4 or 5 more years of mediocre success will kill that brand, IMO. It's time for a young, quality (lol) coach to come in.
I'm also in favor of Miles becoming AD, he's a great ambassador to the program, a great people manager, and he's earned that position if promoted... But his coaching days are slowly coming to an end.

Are you kidding? 99% of TD wants to fire Les Miles even if he wins the next three National Championships.
Posted on 9/21/16 at 1:39 pm to BRgetthenet
What if we win the National Championship and Les decides that he wants to go out on top and retires. We hire Tom Herman to replace him and end the Saban era.

Hell no. How about a great retirement plan? If Les wins out, there's no way he gets an extension. Let the man live out the remainder of his contract and retire or force him into retirement when things go south again.

I think it goes without saying you don't fire your coach if he wins the national championship. That being said.... it ain't happening. As a matter of fact, we can probably put this argument to bed before the end of October.

we knew this would happen after the wisc game.
beat jsu/msu then optimism is back at it.

Surely you can agree that the change in QB and the resultant emergence of a passing game is reason to be optimistic, right?
