If there is truth to Kelly's comments that his relationship with one of his star players after 3 months is that he guesses he knows his last name, that tells me all I need to know about how Kelly feels about Boutte as a person

I wanted to give Kayshon the benefit of the doubt because we overreact here alot but holy shite that was awful.

I took that to mean Kelly wants the players to know/think that 1) He is the fricking boss around here, not any individual players. 2) No player is carrying credit over for what they did last year, every position is an open competition. Look no further than his QB comments.

The whole interview was a bad look for Boutte with the exception of one bright spot. When Jordy asked him about Flint and the S&C Boutte seemed to light up about it and say how much he loves Flint and what they're doing. He said something like "...and we're doing flexibility stuff so we're finally getting taken care of so I love him. I think everyone loves him"

NFL loves to hear that kind of approach I’m sure. I’d definitely pay millions to a player that had no desire to actually do extra work to be a star.

I still have hope for Boutte. He still has a lot to prove to scouts and to himself.
But if he can't perform, I have full confidence in the other playmakers at WR. Bech, Nabers, BTJ are all capable of being stars.

Agreed. As talented as he is, this is a position where we have replacements. Nabers, Thomas, Bech and Hilton all have #1 WR ability. Smith too but looks like he is gone. Love KB but that interview was doo do

It wasn’t a great interview. Kelly was pretty open their relationship hasn’t started off great & you can see it from Boutte’s side. It’s not completely surprising there’s some culture shock. Hopefully they’re both able adapt to the new situations & move forward. Kelly’s going to need to be able to get through to the Kayshon Boutte’s of the world to succeed here & Boutte’s likely needs to mature to succeed at the next level.

You can take this one of two ways. You can take it how most people are taking it here or you can take it as he knows there are three and gone players on the team and that they should show out if they really are just gonna leave as soon as possible, his last comment gives me that because it seems like he knows they're just here to give themselves a draft stock so they can make money as fast as possible so they might as well show out if that is their plan.
