So weird, Lacy always seemed like such a high character kid shooting up the cameraman ya know. I wouldn’t expect this.

So were they found liable when they were sued?
Yes. It was later overturned on appeal
Of course, that was under the lower civil burden of proof of "more probably than not".

My point is that if you look at what the police say occurred, unless they are inaccurate, there is absolutely zero chance of this being the case. Even if that's what he says, it isn't a reasonable belief.

So where exactly is Hwy 20 south? Where did the accident happen?
Luther/Thibodaux area I think. Lacy probably was returning from/going home if he was on 20 since he’s from Thibodaux.

A Louisiana State Police document contains the following allegations about the incident: As Lacy was illegally passing the other vehicles, the driver of a northbound lane pickup truck abruptly braked and swerved to the right to avoid a head-on collision with the approaching Dodge. Traveling behind the pickup truck was a Kia Cadenza whose driver swerved left to avoid the oncoming Dodge Charger. As the Kia Cadenza took evasive action to avoid impact with the Dodge, it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a southbound Kia Sorrento. Following the crash, Lacy drove around the crash scene and fled south on LA Hwy 20 without stopping to render aid, call emergency services, or report his involvement in the crash.
I don't understand. Did Lacy turn around? Wouldn't he already be ahead of the accident?

That's why you have discovery and trials. What you are seeing is a very small piece of the facts as stated in a news article.

According to The Advocate:
-The driver of the northbound truck swerved to the right to avoid a collision with Lacy.
- The driver behind the truck took action and crossed the centerline striking a southbound car.
So in the northbound lane that Lacey was crossing in, one driver swerved right and the other swerved left.
I think saying he “drove around the wreck” is a little disingenuous.

Awful! The kid had a ton of potential that will never be on a football field again. Sad for the victim that lost his life because of an idiotic decision. He is a kid that received more money than he has ever seen and is driving a charger. I think NIL will result in many of these terrible situations until these kids get some real guidance and/ or restraints. Do we expect these kids to make smart decisions at 18? Some of these kids won’t make it in pros and the money is being blown on sports cars. Would like to see nil money go into a trust with limitations to protect these youngsters from making decisions that will ruin their lives.

How? The two vehicles that crashed ended up straddling the center line. Anyone traversing either lane after the accident would have had to "drive around it."
That would include Lacy, as the accident occurred in front of his vehicle.

Yeah, not sure what "drove around the crash scene" means. did he know he fricked up and drive around to see the damage he caused? and then STILL didn't call for help?
