I enjoyed it but I thought it was short and I would have really liked to have seen more about Bertmans coaching style as opposed to the recap of his national championship wins. It’s my opinion of course since I’m already familiar with those years but what I’ve heard from friends that have played for Bertman is what truly made him unique was his ability to motivate. Players would be in tears before games from his motivation speeches! He brought the best out in all his players.

You can catch it on the ESPN App on demand if you still have not seen it.

Yep and agree. Would be cool to see more of his motivational and coaching style. Needs a book.

I played at LSU when Skip was coach. Tears, would be a little strong. He did have a motivational story before each game, some were really good and others were ok. Coming up with a good motivational story or 18-22 yr olds was tough I'm sure. What skip was best at was his "system." We did the same thing on August 15th that we did the year before and so on and so on.Our hitting finally caught up with Skips pitching staff and they begin to win more and more.

It's a scam. He is 15-0 but his era is 6.2.

He's the Saban of college baseball, the "process" and being able to get the absolute best out of everyone.

Agree based on the show. His attention to detail is Saban like. Base running, pitching, etc - options for all scenarios. I certainly don’t see that in current staff.

Well
don’t ever expect another Bertman. Just to have some of his many great qualities would be great

He followed Ron Polk’s lead. Didn’t reinvent stuff. Even his small playbooks were pulled from Ron’s big baseball playbook. https://www.thebaseballplaybook.com/

I don’t know about anyone else but to me this is the most overused phrase that makes me cringe everytime I read it on the rant.

The correct commentary would be that Saban is Skip like. Or that Saban is the Skip Bertman of college football.

Skip came first & is the elder/did it first.
