Weekend starter?

Ability to do so, if not this upcoming year perhaps the following. Mot draft eligible until 2028

3.75 FIP

Only 4 starts

But the stuff looks absolutely legit. Hopefully, at worst, a key bullpen arm.

Another small school transfer. Awesome!!

Pitching at a small schools is much easier to scout than hitting

A 13 k/9 and an upper 90s fastball as a freshman should translate anywhere

He went 3 IP 7 K 1 BB 0 H 0 R against OU this year

Currently at top 100 prospect for the 2028 draft

I think he'll start off as the midweek guy and have a chance to get into the weekend rotation. If Moore's not back and 100%, he'll probably be the Sunday guy.

I think Jay will show some loyalty to Evans, Schmidt, and Moore but won't hesitate to make a change if necessary.

Paz and Rickin will have their chance as well, but this guy will be starting in a good spot due to his command.

Between Casan, Schmidt, Moore, Paz and now Hood. You have 5 legit arms competing for a rotation spot. I think Casan and Schmidt will both vastly improve next year after a full season starting. Pitching could be elite next year.
Run Hood, Schmidt, and Moore on the weekends and put Evans back as your weekend jack knife out the pen like he excelled at last year. Paz can be your weekday starter.

I hated the pitchers we got from Air Force, UC San Diego, and Kansas. All big time disappointments.

Jay should have probably checked with you before adding him. Could have got a second set of eyes on the #2 guy in the portal who was the freshman of the year in his conference.

Again, what shite? What lower level pitcher have we gotten, outside of Justin Loer - a spot reliever, who has under produced?

Guy had a .86 ERA in his last 42 innings. He struck out 7 OU batters in 3 innings without allowing a hit in his 3rd career appearance. Take a lap.

We need several pitchers. I wouldn’t call what we have elite by any stretch. The pitching staff was awful and the major reason we were .500 overall with a losing record in the SEC.

The talented guys who didn't pitch much were not the reason the team had a losing record in conference.

This pitching staff, when healthy, has a ton of talent. The coaching staff is supplementing that with good to elite guys like Hood.
