When Ranters post messages to Woodward and/or coaches, do they actually send them to the intended person or just post them here an hope that person reads it?

Yep and there would be "LSU fans" there hoping Mcneese beats LSU. Truly pathetic.

but let's be real, There ain't crap to do in Lake Charles so going to a basketball game is probably high up there.
That's always been the case. But fans weren't going to McNeese games before this season. I do quite a bit of work in LC and I can tell you even before the season you were seeing more promotion for the basketball program than I can ever remember. The fact that they are winning is obviously building off of that promotion.
quote:
If Mcmahon can start winning some games he's not supposed to then that will have a positive affect
Absolutely. However, we've honestly reached the point of where any win over a major conference opponent feel like a win over someone he's not "supposed" to beat. To counter the OP's post a bit, the PMAC looked a lot like that during Nov./Dec of the Wade era as well. Even when LSU had good teams. I know. I was there. Fans weren't showing up to watch even a good LSU team play Wofford, Kennesaw St., etc. But SEC play in January is when the attendance would take off. Football was completely over and casual basketball fans now wanted to pay attention when LSU was playing opponents (i.e. SEC teams) they knew.
That was even the case last season in the SEC opener vs. Arkansas. (IIRC) that game was in late December when school was out for the semester break. Those games rarely had great student attendance. However, I walked into the PMAC and was surprised to see a really great crowd...and that was the pinnacle of the McMahon era.

it would be a lot more probable if LSU fans were there to support them.
Chicken or the egg. Casual basketball fans are not going to make it a point to attend games (often on weekday nights) to watch a team who is more probable than not going to lose in an uncompetitive game. That's not just at LSU, but everywhere. So you can't just say "you know, if you fans would show up they may start winning more!" That's not going to work. McMahon lost the benefit of the doubt with last year's dismal performance. Going into this season he had to earn it back. Thus far, he's done nothing to do so. In fact, just the opposite. Apathy has set in for even a lot of "diehard" fans. If he wants to start getting asses in the seats he's going to have to start, NOW, winning several games when no asses are present. That may not be great to hear as a coach/player, but that is the reality.
quote:
I think if Cook is playing that game goes differently as would some of the other losses. You cannot win without a PG. Lets see what he does with Cook running the show for a change.
It's great to have a guy like Cook back. But I posted on here before the Texas game to temper expectations because the problems ran deeper than just not having Cook. He played 32 minutes vs. Texas. So it's not like they were easing him back in. And he had a decent offensive game (2nd leading scorer). But Cook didn't and doesn't fix the defensive issues. He doesn't fixt the rebounding issues. He doesn't completely fix the turnover issues. So I can't sit here and say now that he's back this team will really take off. Do I hope so? Yes! But again, McMahon gets no benefit of the doubt because he hasn't proven anything at LSU to date other than he might be the worst HC in the SEC. At least his 1.5 record reflects that.
The best thing about Cook's return is the excuses should be over now. LSU has two "warmup" games left before SEC play. They then open @ A&M, Vandy, @ Auburn, Ole Miss before the schedule gets even tougher. If McMahon doesn't go at least 2-2 in that stretch (which won't be easy) you can probably close the book on much SEC success.

You know this how?
If I were him or a coach, I wouldn't read TD nor would I allow my staff to tell me anything about it.

You're talking about Woodward, right? He fired the coach right before the NCAA Tournament and signaled to the team that he didn't care about them.

This is mmcgrath we’re talking about here. He’s one of a few that are the worst and most ignorant posters on here but they post with such conviction it’s scary to think what they might be in charge of in the real world

It appears that Wade and a couple other coaches are the only ones, since Dale Brown and Tarkanian, with the cajones to point out the absurdities of the Gestapo Bastards.

I said this in another thread the other day:
Basketball, at all levels, has turned into an absolute garbage sport. Just do yourself a favor and stop watching.

don't be a dumb arse and get caught. Wade couldn't even do that right

Did he get caught though?
Look at the ruling. They never actually proved anything.
He was nailed for essentially not cooperating.
That’s what they nailed him on. Not actually cheating.
It’s interesting that the only actual changing hands of money that was proven doesn’t involve him at all. It involves football players.
Wade was sacrificed for the football program. And we are going to languish a little while to allow all the dirt under the rug to settle.
And in 2-3 years we’ll see a change.

SEC play starts soon, if the spring gods of basketball can allow lsu to upset a&m, the seats will start filling. Dude deserves a shot at conference play, he’s stood by and waited for a quality pg. He has more talent than last year, and if they can steal a couple early conference wins, they can fill some seats.
Jesus have our fricking standards dropped here since the amazing perennial postseason Wade era. Praying we beat Aggy and waiting for 1 player like he will make all the difference in stealing a few conference wins.
Fun reminder that Will Wade was 10-0 against Aggy btw

Football #s and basketball #s are not apples and oranges bro, the difference is expenses, if I lived close I would have season tickets to basketball. I have football season tickets and make as many games as I can, it’s an Event. You can’t compare the 2. Win and they will come in basketball- LSU WBB sold out all 9700 season tickets. Will Wade got LSU averaging 10000, McBland averages 2700.
Football on TV is a great commodity and awesome product.
Basketball on TV is not, especially if your team sucks.
Basketball - no weather, over in 2 hours. Our MBB program is a product for young kids and older folks because there’s no hassle because there’s no one there to hassle you.
Hate Will Wade or not He made LSU MBB an Event because he won, McBland has made LSU MBB a joke and not a very funny one.

I never said Cook would fix all of the problems on this team. I said he will make it better and he did. You say rebounding is an issue but Texas only had 4 more rebounds and we outrebounded them offensively. Only 4 TO in second half and unfortunately those came at critical times but the team play improved dramatically in the second half even though we were down by 19. Can't do that without some coaching, sorry. And the refs did insert themselves with about 4 minutes to go and LSU on a run with the ball down by 7. My issue moving forward will be the starting lineup. He can start Baker if he wants but better be on a short leash. We got in a hole with Cook, Dean and Fountain on the bench. They need to be starting or getting majority of the minutes from now on. Baker and Reed are too up and down. If they aren't on from the get go need to sit or come off the bench. I do agree with the assessment of 2-2 in first 4 SEC games. If he can do that it will be a great start considering @TAM and @Auburn would be huge upsets if they won.
