Josh, don't sign for that amount of money, stay another year, become a top 10 pick next year and make that multi million dollar contract....sometimes u gotta work for it to get it...do it...that garbage money u gonna get isn't shite...in a.seriousness, if I'm his dad, i push hard for him to stay...simply one 1 reason alone...he is worth much more than 980k...after taxes and agent fees....he got maybe 500k...too many donars would pay ur injury insurance for next year to cover you incase of an injury....stay another year bro...it takes 4 yrs for a degree...sometimes it takes 4 years to get that big money also...leave it in God's hands and trust in him that you'll be all good...

we all got opinions, bottom line if I'm his dad...I push him to stay 1 more year...he is worth much more, after he plays in the minors, he will just be another ss unless he goes bigs....his only shot if he signs is to make it to the top...Will be tough...I'd stay another year and sign for way more

I stopped reading at the fifth ellipsis and started counting ellipses. 14.

Ya know, all it takes is one period at the end of a sentence.

become a top 10

Not gonna happen for a ss at this height and physical build, and especially not gonna happen when he doesn’t have the bargaining power of being a junior anymore

He has better leverage for more money as an underclassman. Seniors have no other option, but to sign for what is offered.

It’s no joke. He has an IQ in the teens. He will cover it up as a joke after he gets proven wrong time after time.

And you would be giving your son shite advice. He's had previous major injury problems and is having a huge year at the plate and shown himself to be a very solid defender. Now is the time to go get paid and get started towards the dream.

The Yankees signed him. They will give him whatever he wants to sign.

I’m with the OP.

If he waits until next season to go he will certainly be a first rounder, and can possibly make double what he’d be making currently. Josh Smith is worth more than 980k.

Now, realistically, he’s probably going to go, but it should not be a “no brainer”. This is something you’d have to think long and hard about.

Why would we ask two juniors about staying until their senior year?
