'll go ahead and take a crack at that. There was only 1. Ethan Small.

Technically Small is a JR, he's 4 years removed from HS because he redshirted in 2017 due to tommy john. He's a Sr. academically but a JR. athletically so he still has bargaining power.

most players fade and move on in another profession so why not try to maximize ur signing bonus....makes complete sense

...the only shot to make money in MLB is to get to the bigs ...obviously u have no idea the actual money that is paid to a minor leaguer... lol...

let me explain to all idiots who think waiting till ur a sr to sign would lose money for player...u guys are fricking morons, ok if I'm the team who can draft high in first round and the other team who are near me want a good player for theor infield...he will get drafted SOONER you fricking caveman morons...lol....if a player have value he will go HIGHER in the draft and sign for more money and a he'll of alot more than 975k before taxes and agent fees....you guys are arm chair wannabees....dam

face it bro, you're a seagull that is trying to justify being right when
people have called you out for being wrong on this topic

You have zero clue about JS's situation yet you're acting like his financial adviser.
Smith is one of the top hitters and base stealers in the SEC -
even more reason why he should sign and chase his dream of playing in the Bigs.

maybe I picked the wrong guy...i was looking in terms of his(bleday) growth from last yr to this year, without it ,he isnt a first rounder this yr regardless of his draft class, the kid can play and hit very well meaning his worth is more important than his class, what if josh smith trains hard in the off season , builds strength, has a good summer and fall and instead of batting .360 and 12hrs,he bats .398 and hits 23hrs in the sec....not one swinging dick here can't tell me that the mlb's want for his play won't draft him higher simply because he is a sr, they can't say "we got him now boys, he is a sr, so lets draft him lower and sign him for less guys" lol..if I got the the 8th pick overall for ex and I want josh smith because he was one of the hottest if not the hottest player in the sec , I'm gonna take him period, it's doesn't matter his class.......every team will want a chance on him....bottom line is I feel like his potential can be effectively shown in college with one more year before he becomes just another player in mlb....jmo....if u cant see this site of it, ur just an idiot who wants to troll and be a bitch ...I do understand the wsnt to leave early but some I agree and some I disagree...with Josh, he has played 2 seasons, i feel like one more season can truly earn him more money, alot more...

I don't know how you looked at that wall of text long enough to find anything to quote.

What an abortion of language.

He won’t get more because he will no longer have the leverage of saying, “well I’ll just go back to school if you don’t meet my figure.”

This really isn’t a hard concept to grasp.

What you don’t understand is that you are talking about a legitimate strategy that DRAFT ELIGIBLE SOPHOMORES use but you are trying to apply it to a junior.

They are not in the same boat because a junior won’t have any leverage the next year while the sophomore would be a junior and would still have negotiating leverage.

Do you still not get it?

The part where SR's rarely get drafted early...This is his year to negotiate. take a look at the guys drafted in the top 100 picks and tell me how many were college Sr's! The yankees traditionally spend more than most, his slot is just shy of a million, he can threaten to come back to school and get upwards of a million from them. Next year all of that bargaining power is virtually gone! I don't know why it's so hard for you to understand! I'm not being a dick, I'm trying to let you know that you should put the shovel down and quit digging your hole deeper. You obviously made a comment based on what you thought to be true, you have been given multiple examples proving your theory false yet you continue to defend your stance!

we all got opinions, bottom line if I'm his dad...I push him to stay 1 more year...he is worth much more, after he plays in the minors, he will just be another ss unless he goes bigs....his only shot if he signs is to make it to the top...Will be tough...I'd stay another year and sign for way more

This is the dumbest shite I’ve ever seen posted here.
