Keep in mind he’s younger than most players in that league. He will be a day one starter I believe

Good enough to go rounds 5-15 “if he wants to”

Has he given any implication of a threshold he’s looking for, like 5th or 6th?

Kinda seems like a true OF version of Dugas. Similar size and verified speed, both built like shite brick houses. Hopefully he is an instant impact guy and JJ has to get creative with getting everyone at bats. It would be a good problem to have.

I feel with NIL these type guys will go to college instead of pros. Probably same money with less headaches and pressure

It’ll be interesting to see how it works out with NIL. Unless there’s something I don’t understand it should be no problem to get mid-lower round guys money to match their signing bonus and stay for another year, unless they just want to start their big league career.

e.g., A booster owns a car dealership. Put, say, Dugas in a local commercial for $100K. Done.

I’m excited to see how LSU uses NIL to keep athletes playing for another year, especially in baseball.

Not sure how much Pearson is projected to get. But if we can get him in the lineup with our current guys and the AZ guy(s) coming in, it’s going to be an exciting offense.

Don’t think his brother has acclimated well in minors
Maybe that is pushing him to college

Casey Sanders development. You LSU football fans have no clue how close Casey Sanders was to becoming the strength and conditioning coach at LSU in 2000 after Saban was hired

Reminds me of a former lefty power hitter we had with that lower jaw.

Good God. Kid looks like he's 30 years old.

Those are definitely what you call tree trunk legs.

What was that cat's name who played center field for Tulane at the height of the Rick Jones era? He was around when Cannizaro and Gautreau played. I can't remember his name, but he was a squatty dude who hit with some power and he stole a ton of bases, and he talked trash like there was no tomorrow.

We all hated him, but that kid played out of his mind against LSU.

Pearson reminds me of that kid. I don't think he's an obnoxious trash-talker like that kid was, but on the field he seems a lot like him.
