Last year Days was an absolutely pivotal player because we only had 4 guys who could really do anything on offense. However, his size was absolutely a factor in our defensive ineptitude down low. Everyone here knows Reid is a stud. Eason seems like he could have a breakout year. A player like Alex Fudge is 6’9 and long and a freak athlete. Darius Days is coming back but I cannot imagine how Days gets 30 minutes per game like last year.

Days was BY FAR the best rebounder on the team last year and would be the best rebounder on next year's team as well. Reid is a skilled young big man. But he's not a great rebounder relative to his size. Eason is a Emmitt Williams type of player. He'll rebound. He'll play hard defensively. He can occasionally make a 3 and will get some garbage buckets offensively. But he's not a great offensive player or someone who you run an offense through.

Days would be LSU's best returning 3 point shooter. He could help stretch the floor and create spacing which is CRITICAL to what Wade wants. Is he great defensively? No. But NO ONE has been under Wade. He just doesn't place a ton of emphasis on the defensive end (not matter what he says).

I just can’t see him getting a better opportunity than he did last year to showcase his skills.

Probably not. But there is still an "unknown" factor when it comes to Pinson and Miller in an LSU uniform. It could be that Days emerges as a bigger option if those two guys aren't as great a scorers as we expect. He was the most efficient offensive player in the SEC the last two years. He took a backseat to three other guys who needed the ball in their hands to create offense on their own (Smart, Thomas, Watford). But that doesn't mean he can't play or score. The ONLY reason his total scoring numbers were higher is because he took less shots than Thomas, Smart, Watford.

We were forced to live with games where he was 1 for 9 and got crushed on defense,

The ENTIRE starting line up (except, at times, for Wilkinson and Hyatt) were terrible defenders. It wasn't just Days. LSU lost the games when he didn't score...but it wasn't simply because Days struggled on defense

Yea, takes like "Days won't start for LSU if he comes back" are wild to me. Days has been a solid contributor since he stepped on campus and would immediately be our most proven basketball player at a major conference level, along with our best outside shooter.

I never really understand why players, this late in their college careers, transfer.
ask Joe Burrow. He had two years of eligibility left, just like LeBlanc.

Guys want to play, nothing wrong with chasing that - although 3 schools in a college career is rare.

Or he got processed by Wade.

Very inconsistent contributor.

He would be our oldest player, but best outside shooter? Maybe 1 out of every 5 games he'd get hot, and when he's not hot he seems to quit.

It is a numbers game and I feel sorry for the guy. But fans want wins. And he was the weakest link. Thanks for being a Tiger. I wish Josh well in his future life.

The notion that Days quit in 80% of games is absolutely ridiculous. As far as being our best shooter, Days is at 36% over 4ish three pointers a game over this career. Adam Miller may prove to be a better shooter this year, but he was only 34% last season.

Is darius doing summer workouts with the team and such? I feel Wade’s strongest coaching attribute is player development. Skylar improved much more than anyone thought possible each year he was here. Days has done similar up until this point and if he can improve yet again he could be a nice weopin for us this upcoming season. Especially if we can play him as a small forward type role.

Well, this year when he isn't hot, there are multiple folks that can come in and offer something different - length, athleticism, or an alternate way to score. I'm pretty sure Days will be a starter unless Eason, Colbert, or O'Neal dominates from day 1.

Think about that. We have 4 credible starters at PF. I don't remember ever having that dynamic before.

That's not surprising at all. Didnt hear his name once this summer so far. He must be waayyyy down the depth chart.

I think Wade got scared early on realizing all he was losing scoring wise and went out early and picked up a volume player...but Knight was a pretty inefficient player despite his volume. We just have way more talented guys now than the time we picked him up, we could probably still pickup a hundred players similar to him right now talent wise.

To exacerbate this point, of the near 1700 d1 players in transfer portal almost 600 still dont have a landing spot.

hope he gets to play somewhere close

He was on our first Mitchell Robinson team but transferred to Northside the year we went to state. We probably would have won if he was there

Ironically someone moved down my block with a San Jose State sign and I thought it was his family moving back

Days was in the comment section of an LSU Barstool post about Leblanc saying no matter what happens, he’ll always love BR. Whatever that means.

One would think so. But it is amazing to see just how completely the roster has been overhauled from last year to this year. As it stand now LSU will be replacing all 5 starters from its NCAAT as well as 10 of the 13 scholarship players on the roster to begin last season. Literally (unless Days comes back) the only returning players are Wilkinson, Gaines and O'Neal...from what was a team with ONE senior (Manning) to start the season.

My guess is that the "vets" (which is crazy because Knight didn't ever play a game) saw themselves getting passed over by the numerous newcomers and decided to move on rather than waste one of their few remaining years of eligibility getting limited minutes.

For the first time since Wade's first season I really don't know what to expect from his team because there are just so many new faces.
