Someone said smart had a good combine. You positive he didnt get the invite?

Yep, four players got invited and Javonte and Darius were not one of them.

Javonte box scores
11 PTS / 1 AST, 1 TO / 2 REB / 5 of 11 FG / 1 of 4 3PT / 0 STL, 0 BLK
14 PTS / 2 AST, 0 TO / 9 REB / 3 OF 9 FG / 2 of 6 3PT / 0 STL, 0 BLK

Darius box scores
10 PTS / 0 AST, 1 TO / 6 REB / 4 of 8 FG / 2 of 3 3 PT / 1 STL, 0 BLK
9 PTS / 1 AST, 0 TO / 3 REB / 3 of 10 FG / 2 of 7 3PT / 2 STL, 0 BLK

Leblanc played hard, but his offensive game and free throw shooting were pretty rough (though he had good athleticism).

I never really understand why players, this late in their college careers, transfer.

I had higher hopes for him this year from a toughness/ defense / rebounding perspective. Wasn’t great there and never was very offensively skilled.

I figured he was a lock to return but with a year left probably wants a bigger role. I hope this means Days is returning. He’s not perfect but his offensive rebounding and three point shooting will help

It's a free transfer for everyone this year and Leblanc didnt play a huge role on last year's team and wasn't going to again this year so might as well take advantage of the free transfer while it's there if he wants to be a starter.

Wade has a lot of decisions to make next year for the team.

Last year Days was an absolutely pivotal player because we only had 4 guys who could really do anything on offense. However, his size was absolutely a factor in our defensive ineptitude down low. Everyone here knows Reid is a stud. Eason seems like he could have a breakout year. A player like Alex Fudge is 6’9 and long and a freak athlete. Darius Days is coming back but I cannot imagine how Days gets 30 minutes per game like last year.

I think this is the right move for Days to get his degree and it’s great for our team, it gives us another weapon. I just can’t see him getting a better opportunity than he did last year to showcase his skills. We were forced to live with games where he was 1 for 9 and got crushed on defense, we don’t have to live with that this year. I’m really really curious how this team and the minutes will shake out.

You need dogs like Darius Days to win championships. He was literally the only one on the floor last year that did any dirty work. We have plenty of scorers. We need more Ben Wallace, Rodman, Drummond etc who want to bang in the paint.

Days coming back allows him to potentially showcase his skills as a true 3 versus having to be a 4/5 the past year where he just doesn’t have the size to match up. If he can show better playmaking and a more consistent shot, he can put himself in position to get drafted. We had more top end talent last year (granted that’s debatable we are very talented this year) but we had absolutely no depth. This year might be Wades deepest team since ‘17-‘18 when Javonte came off the bench.

Cause he was told to transfer. He wasn't going to play anyway. Did you watch him last year?

This isn't the NBA. Days is plenty big enough to play the 4 in college. He's not a rim protector. We haven't one on the roster in years. He can rebound and more importantly, he's willing to rebound. He can body up. He can bang in the paint. Problem last year is that when you play a team like Michigan with 4 dudes who can do the same, and Days is the only kid on the roster who has any balls not to get bullied in the paint, he gets worn down, which affects the other parts of his game. Days was the most integral part of the team last year because he was the only kid on the entire roster who could do what what he did. And once again we're going into the season with a bunch of lanky bigs, who will get thrown around in SEC play like Leblanc did, and the only one we have an idea if they can rebound or protect the rim at the college level is Eason.

I am not saying his ceiling is NBA draft pick, but if he improved his shot and footwork, he could be a big contributor for us off the bench. Sometimes guys finally have a light bulb come on, that was my hope for him.

But I agree with other posters in that we'll be ok. Just loved his athleticism foundation.

How in the Hell did you just mention Darius Days in the same sentence as Ben Wallace and Dennis Rodman?

For starters, he's 6'7, secondly he cares way way more about scoring than defense. If his offense isn't there, his defense isn't there. He is not a junk yard dog.

And to another poster, we have so many good players, especially guards, Darius Days will not play the 3 ever

If Miles or Johnson entered the Portal, would that belong on the "Recruiting Board".

Every player who enters the portal, who has potential to play or counts toward available scholarships, affects recruiting

I love Days as a player and would love to have him back, but it would be in his best interests to jump into the portal if he does come back to college. He needs to establish himself as a consistent scorer and he just won't get that opportunity at LSU next year.

Probably would fit in at Arkansas.

Really had high hopes for Leblanc, but it just never materialized last year. Moving on is probably in his best interest.

I really hope DD comes back. He's a veteran that knows WW system and when he's on he can flat out stroke it. With so many new players, his leadership would be huge.
