Clearly, Orgeron is working his magic on the punting game as well. In Growden's past 3 games, he is averaging 49.2 yards per punt (11 punts - 541 yards). This brings his previously abysmal ypp average up to a respectable 42.6 on the season.

By comparison, Alabama's heralded JK Scott is averaging 47.5 ypp on the season.

That rugby style kicking wasn't working out for him.

They brought in a special teams consultant.

Not joking.

He is kicking the piss out of the ball, hang time could be better, but the coverage is down there in enough time. Think he would sacrifice his length for more hang time.

Considering the punt team lost the Wisconsin game almost singlehandedly, he had nowhere to go but up.

I would prefer it if he averaged 0 punts per game.

Well you can't expect our special teams coach, the highest paid in college football, to sort it out.

What has impressed me most is that only 6 out of 32 punts have been returned for a total of 31 yards.
